One Month Later:
It had been one month since the dwarves left Rivendell, and Emarilia hid the stone kili gave her somewhere safe. Today she was sitting in the garden and Elrond handed her a letter. "It's from your father" Elrond stated while handing her it. Emarilia nodded and decided to read once when Elrond left. Her hands were shaking uncontrollably and her heart was pounding, but to her surprise, the letter was actually from her brother. She quickly opened it, and began to read:
Legolas's Letter
Emarilia, I don't know where you are or if this letter will ever reach you, but I miss you very much. Without you, I feel empty and alone all the time. Ever since you left, Ada won't speak with anyone, not even me. You're breaking our hearts, and Ada is in pain. I don't know what he did to you, but I'm sorry for whatever it was. I miss practicing archery with you, and just talking with you. You always make me feel better when I'm upset. And now that you're gone, I have nothing. Ada locked himself in his room, and he won't come out. I am worried about him, but not as worried as I am about you. It's not safe out there and you could get hurt. I cannot lose you, nor can Ada. We have no idea if you are alright, and we're in agony. Emarilia, please, return home.
~ Legolas
Emarilia couldn't help but cry. She had no idea Legolas felt that way. She desperatly wanted to return home, but she couldn't 'Not yet' she thought to herself. She stood up, and began to walk to her room. As she was walking, she heard someone screaming for help, and it sounded like a child. She became worried, and ran around, trying to see where the sound was coming from. She was now on the bridge, and she saw an ellon drowning in the water, squealing for help. He was waving his tiny arms, trying to stay above the water, but he kept sinking. Emarilia began to panic, but she knew that she had to save him. She slipped her shoes off, and jumped into the water. It was a long drop, and she slammed against the water. Emarilia winced in pain, but she ignored it, and swam towards the ellon. As she reached him, she pulled him over her soulders, and swam out of the water. Once she reached land, she layed him on the ground, and began to do CPR. After a few minutes the ellon began to cough up water, and regained consciousness. He sat up and looked at Emarilia with wide eyes "Y...You saved me!" he squealed giving Emarilia a hug. Emarilia smiled from ear to ear and held him tightly.
"Where are your parents?" Emarilia asked him calmly."I think my mother's in the garden looking for me"
"Then let's go to the garden..." Emarilia replied holding out her hand for him to hold. The little ellon nodded and happily took her hand. As they were walking to the garden, Emarilia noticed that the little one was panting, and could barely keep up with her. Emarilia felt bad for him, and picked him up, carrying him to the garden. As they reached the garden, She saw the ellon's mother pacing around shouting her son's name. Once his mother saw them, she sighed in releif and pulled him out of her arms, squeezing him in a hug. She then looked up at Emarilia and said "Thank you so much for finding him, but why is he all wet, and you?"
"W..Well, I..I was walking across the bridge when I heard someone struggling in the water. I saw your son drowning, and I dove in, to save him."
The ellon's mother's eyes widened in fear and she said "Y..You saved my son!" Emarilia nodded, and looked at the ground, not knowing what to say. Elrond soon approached them and asked "Emarilia, what is going on, and why are you all wet?""I..well...I was..walking-" Emarilia stuttered. The ellon's mother cut her off and said "She saved my son from drowning in the water." Elrond's eyes widened, and he turned to Emarilia "Is this true?" he asked. She nodded. "You sure are your father's daughter" Elrond whispered to her.
"W..What?" Emarilia stuttered
"Long ago your father fought in a large war that cost the lives of many. He was willing to sacrifice his life to save his people...." Elrond then leaned closer to her and whispered into her ear "That's how he got his burn" Emarilia's eyes
widened and asked "Really?" Elrond nodded. Suddenly the ellon's mother shouted "Oh My Goodness! I am so sorry, you are Princess Emarilia of Mirkwood! My apologies! I did not know!" then she bowed. Emarilia smiled and replied "It's alright, and please, just call me Emarilia." She nodded with a smile and walked off with her son. Elrond looked Emarilia in the eyes and said "You have the same bravery as your father." Emarilia didn't smile, she felt a tug on her heart. She didn't want anyone to mention her father to her, not now. She nodded and said "I'm going to change now, before I catch a cold" Elrond knew that he made her uncomfortable by mentioning her father. As she was walking away Elrond said "Emarilia, I know you love your father, and he loves you too. You cannot run away from his love, because one day his big arms will wrap around you, never letting you go, protecting and loving you forever." Emarilia turned around to look at Elrond and tears were streaming down her cheeks. Elrond knew he was hurting her, but he had to. He had to make her realize that her father loves her, more than anything. Emarilia turned around to walk away again, but Elrond said one last thing, making her stop. "Emarilia, We only realize how much someone means to us when they are no longer with us." Emarilia lost it, she let out a cry and ran to her room. Elrond felt extremely bad, but had to do it, he just had to.Elvish:
