My head rested in my hands as thoughts of y/n raced through my mind. Ever since we were kids I've always had a connection with her only to realize in my early twenty's that I'm in love with her. Now she's getting married to her fiancé, which sadly isn't me. It's my fault for not asking her out sooner. But he is a great guy and she deserves nothing but the best.

Sam is sitting next to me on the couch as we were getting ready to leave for the wedding. It's today and her fiancé put both Sam and I in the wedding. We should have left five minutes ago because it starts soon but I can't. I can't find the strength to stand up without breaking. The woman I've been in love with since I was four is getting married to someone else.

It feels like I'm losing half of my heart today. She's my other half and I'd give anything to have her in my arms. A shaky sigh left my mouth causing Sam to give me a look of concern. "Colby I'm sure if you just talked to her-" he started but I cut him off.

"No...I'm not ruining this day for her. She deserves to be happy even if it's not with me." It killed me to say it but it's true. He nodded and gave me a sad smile. When feeling up for it we finally left to the barn where she's having this wedding. The man she's marrying is a huge farm boy and thought it would be nice for them to get married in his gigantic barn. He owns a big land that is perfect to hold a wedding.

It also happens to be next to a beautiful pond that lights up with fairy lights at night. Sighing we got into the car and made our way there. It took around twenty minutes before we arrived and went to meet up with the groom. As soon as we walked into his room he gave us worried looks. "Is everything okay?" I asked.

He started pacing the room nervously as he ran his fingers through his hair. "It's y/n," he began and my heart started racing. "One of her bridesmaids said she won't come out of the bathroom and requested to see you. I know you guys are close, would you talk to her for me?" He asked and I nodded my head yes.

I approached the door to the bathroom then knocked softly. No response came so I knocked again before hearing her voice from the other side. "Please just go away." She begged.

"Y/n it's me, Colby." I answered. The door then opened and there she stood looking absolutely gorgeous in her wedding dress. My heart stopped beating in my chest as I stared at the girl I've fallen in love with. She let me inside before shutting the door and locking it again. "Are you okay?" I asked her. She shook her head no as she leaned against the door.

"Talk to me...what's wrong?"

Her eyes then met mine and a sad sigh left her lips. "Colby I can't do this," she breathed. "Of course I love him but he isn't the one...I'm in love with someone else."

That caused my eyes to widen in shock. As selfish as it sounds I really am glad she doesn't want to do this. I want her all to myself but I'd never do anything to jeopardize her relationship. "What do you mean? Who is this other guy?" I raised an eyebrow. She stepped closer to me, placing her hands in mine, and stared into my eyes.

"It's you Colby. It's always been you." She let out. Excitement filled my body hearing that because it's all I've ever dreamed of for years. She doesn't understand how much I care about her or how badly I want to kiss her.

"Are you sure about this? I don't want you to do something you might regret later in life." I asked while squeezing her hands tightly in mine. She smiled and nodded her head yes.

"More sure than I have been about anything in my entire life."

With that I cupped her cheek in my hand before placing a sweet kiss on her lips. I've waited my whole life for this moment and it's finally happening. She kissed me back as her arms wrapped around me. A sudden knock at the door caused us to pull away and stare at each other. "I should probably go talk to him." She stated and I nodded.

The wedding ended up not happening and I did feel bad. I know how much he loved y/n. Later that night the two of us took a drive around the city just talking and figuring out what we are to each other. Friends? Boyfriend and girlfriend? By the end of the night we decided just to take things slow and go from there. I can't tell you how happy I am that she's finally mine.

As much as I feel bad for what happened, I'm happy that I got the girl. The girl I've wanted since we were kids. Y/n is my entire life and I love her with every piece of my heart.
