Chapter 4

The backyard was decorated beautifully. There was lights that lit up all over the backyard. The table was set nicely and there was rose pedals covering the entire pool.
"Wow my mom must have been pretty busy while we were gone," I said to Cody.
"You think?" He said laughing.
We walk over to the table and we take a seat. As we waited for our food he was staring at me, he was smiling and I remembered that I can't make him fall for me( even though it clearly shows he's already having feelings for me) so I started talking.
" I hope the dinner is good," I said while I chuckled.
" Yea I'm starving, today was a pretty good day. I enjoyed spending it with you Brianna," he said.
I smiled and replied with, " Yea me too. It's been a while since I went to the beach."
The servants came  with the food and it looked delicious. It was a steak with spinach pasta Alfredo on the side with wine. We both thanked the servants and they left.
" I gotta take a picture with you and the food," he said, "Do you mind?" He asked.
Me being nice I answered, "Not at all." And he took a picture. He showed it to me and I said, "I looked good send it to me." And he laughed.
As we're eating it got pretty quiet, mostly because we were hungry.
" I'm stuffed," he said with a smile.
" Me too, this was really good." I replied. I looked up when I said that and he was looking at me with a smile again.
" Do I have something on my face?"I asked him.
" No not at all, I just think you're really beautiful. I'm thankful that you spent the day with me and I hope we can hangout more in the future," he said in warm voice. I took a sip from my wine and in my head I said," Damn it Bri, look what happened."
" Yea today was fun and thank you again for the beach day," I replied. I stood up and said, " I'm going to sleep now I'm really tired after today."
"Ok I'll walk you to the stairs," he stood up while saying that to me.
We walked to the entrance and I opened the door for him.
"Thanks for the flowers again," I said when he got out.
He turned around and gave me a hug, " No problem beautiful." He said when he let go of me. I blushed when he said that and before I closed the door he winked at me.  When I locked the door I turned around and my mom was standing behind me.
"Oh my god!" I yelled, "You can't stop scaring me today."
" So how do you feel about him?" She asked me.
" He matured a lot and he was pretty nice. Nervous at first but then he got use to me and started to become more open." I responded.
"That's good! So will you leave Bryan now?" She asked.
I frowned and said," Seriously mom I love Bryan not him. Cody and I can become friends but nothing more."
She laughed and said," Ok that's what you're going to say now. But later on you will have to marry Cody. It's for your own good."
I got upset and started to walk up the stairs. "Whatever good night mom," I said to her.
I get into my room and shut the door. I was holding back tears when I took my makeup off. As I was washing my face I couldn't tell if it was my tears or the water. I couldn't hold it anymore, I was so sick and tired of my mom being like that. Don't get me wrong I love her to death but when she does that with Bryan it hurts me.
"Bryan's a good guy I don't know what she can't see that," I said as I dry my face off.
I get into bed and I call Bryan.
"Hey how did it go?" He asked.
" It was alright, we just ate breakfast at my house and went to the beach after," I replied.
" So nothing went wrong?"
" No don't worry Bryan he didn't do anything. We just walked around the board walk and took pictures of the sunset."
" Ok I trust you Bri."
I smiled and told him, "Well I'm going to sleep, see you tomorrow for bowling?"
"Yea I'll pick you up at one," he replied.
" K Good night and I love you," I said to him.
" Me too and sleep well." He answered and he ended the call.
I felt a little better after the call with Bryan. I turned off the light in my room and it was completely dark. The only light that came in was from the moonlight and I just lated there thinking, "When will my mom accept Bryan as the love of my life?" I sighed and closed my eyes.
