Toni's bedroom
Same day.

Toni opens her desk drawer and pulls out a folded note. It's worn, having been read many times before, she begins unfolding it. Several sentences have been crossed out, only one line at the bottom is legible. It reads, "I miss you too, doesn't change anything"

She takes out her cellphone and holds down the speed dial button, Moose's name popping up on her screen, the call going straight to voicemail.

Hey, it's Moose. Leave a message.

They haven't talked in weeks. She wanted to fix it, he just wouldn't give her the chance.

Toni exits the house, walks towards her truck and climbs in. She turns the key, nothing. She tries again, still nothing. It's dead. She sits back and sighs, thinking to herself. Thinking of why Moose hadn't answered her calls. It's silent. A gust of wind goes by and suddenly Cheryl is sitting next to her. She jumps, startled by her sudden appearance.

"You scared me" Toni breaths out.

"You're going to the reservation" Cheryl says with a straight face.

"How'd you-"

"Josie had a vision"

Cheryls guilty face is her answer. Cheryl tries to lighten up a bit.

"Hey, did you do this to my truck?"

"Toni, you have to understand. Your safety is everything to me"

"Moose is not going to hurt me"

"Not intentionally, but the wolves have no control"

"Cheryl. I have... until graduation to see him, then I'll be one of you, and he'll hate me forever"

"I'm sorry"

Toni stares at her, then starts getting angry. She pushes open the door and climbs out. After slamming the truck door, Cheryl, once again, appears next to her.

"I want you to be happy.. but alive is more important" Cheryl tries to reason.

Frustrated, Toni pushes past her and heads into the house. Cheryl appears on the stairs before Toni can reach them.

"I'll understand if you're too angry for me to come to your room tonight. Just close the window" Cheryl whispers.

Toni pushes past her, making her way up the stairs an to her room. She walks towards the window, closing and locking it. A beat goes by, then another. She then unlocks the window and opens it a bit. She stares at it, then opens it as wide as it can go.

Sooooo I'm back?
I know this was very much short, I'm just slowly trying to get back into this. Once I get used to this again the chapters will for sure be longer.
