-Rachel-
"Goodnight, Dexy," I whispered as I opened the door of my hotel door and went inside. I just had the most amazing day at Seamus and Ashley's wedding, and Dex had just dropped me off on my floor. I smiled at my new phone contact before I closed the lock screen and put it on the nightstand.
He was... how can I begin to describe him? He was a charmer, that's for sure. I felt comfortable with him, especially when he led me onto the dance floor during "A Thousand Years." I was able to sit and just have a conversation with him, and his drumming is spectacular. He seemed to have a lot of interesting things to say, but there was just too short of a time to say them.
After my shower, when I put on my pajamas and slid into bed, I pulled out my phone and logged onto Twitter. I found Dex's Twitter account and certainly didn't hesitate to follow him. I scrolled down to see that the first tweet I came across was about the wedding.
"@DexterJManning Congrats to Seamus and Ashley on their wedding! I'll certainly have to thank you guys later for another reason."
I smiled because I wanted to think the "reason" was me. After another five minutes of scrolling on my phone, I got a notification from Twitter, "@DexterJManning is following you." Jeez, that was fast. Then again, you don't see me complaining.
I looked at the nightstand clock to see that it read 1:33 AM. Eh, I've been up later than this. I mean, it's not like I have to go anywhere tomorrow morning. I just shrugged and closed my phone again, turning the lamp off and going to sleep.

I was woken up this morning by a text from Dex. "Hey, Rachel. Still in Chicago?" I didn't realize he was staying over another day like I am.
"Yeah, why?" I responded.
A few minutes later, he got back to me. "No reason, I just wanted to see if you wanted to spend some time together, let's say, breakfast? There's an Ihop down the road from here."
I was still exhausted and thinking about telling him I wanted lunch instead, but I think my belly wanted to spend time with him. It started rumbling with hunger at the mention of food. "Sure. Tell me when."
"How about 10? Meet in the lobby, then we can walk there together?" I looked over at the nightstand clock that said 8:57.
"Sounds good." I smiled and closed my phone, then buried my face in the pillow. If it wasn't for Dex wanting breakfast, I would be going back to sleep.
Finally, after ten minutes of procrastinating having to get up, I picked myself up out of bed and got ready. I threw on my "Amour à Paris" tank top with an infinity scarf, my new leather jacket, and a pair of pink skinny jeans with black boots. I headed down to the lobby about ten minutes before we were supposed to meet and played on my phone for a bit. I was in the middle of jamming out to Panic! At the Disco's "Miss Jackson" when I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Ready?" the smiley Brit asked me. I was caught a little off guard in the middle of my solo performance, and to be honest I was a little embarrassed that he probably saw me like that.
"Yep!" I answered, nervously but with a smile, stopping the music and putting my phone in my bag. Great, he probably saw me and thinks I'm a weirdo now. Okay, be cool and pretend he didn't see you going mental. He helped me up from my seat and we went through the hotel's revolving doors and walked about twenty minutes to Ihop.
"Good morning!" the waitress perkily greeted. "Two?"
Dex nodded and she led us to a booth near the streetside window. I looked up and down the menu while he took off his red blazer and laid it in the space beside him.
