She walked past the platforms they use for training, quickly racing past a group of first-years, attempting to avoid any interactions.
Although this miserably failed when she heard the voice of Headmaster Silva summoning her. "And eventually, even you-" he directed the weapon at the boy near the end of the semicircle, "can fight like them." the teacher tossed a sword to both Sky and Athena, instructing them to fight.
The sudden surprise meant she wasn't as prepared as she would like but reacted immediately to Sky's attempt. The clashing of the metal echoed around them when she blocked his attack. The fairy agilely spun around on her heel, lifting her right leg and kicking her opponent in the stomach. To counterattack, Sky raised his sword again, aiming for her abdomen. Her sharp reflexes meant the weapon fell from his hands when he moved closer. Before he could grab the knife strapped to her chest, Silva stopped them, congratulating the pair.
"He fights even better with an advanced warning." Sky joked slightly."
He did alright. Favoured his left, but what else is new?" their teacher acknowledged. "She could work on her footwork but otherwise good."
"Silva. Do you see my shoes?" She scoffed, knowing her footwork needed help but blaming her inappropriate footwear is easier.
"Always be prepared, Athena," he advised, then proceeded to talk to the first-years again. "Sky's father was Andreas of Eraklyon. That made him a legacy admission, but he still showed up on the first day and did the work." Sky's face dropped slightly at the mention of his father but changed back when Silva praised him. "Well done." He shook his father figure's hand, gave Athena a small hug then strolled away from them.
Athena remained by Silva's side as he continued his speech, now talking about the winner of the small fight they had. "Athena may be a fairy, but she trains with the specialists and is one of the best. Her father instructed her to come here as a family tradition, and she has excelled in her fighting skills." Silva shook her hand, also complimenting her before she left to find Riven.
Her pace accelerated when she noticed the time on her phone as it was almost eleven. She cursed under her breath, knowing it's too far to make it in time. But late is better than never, right?
