I've had a lot of firsts recently. First time living alone. First time triggering a locked memory. First time watching someone get shot. First time watching someone die in front of me. First time getting in a car accident. First time getting kidnapped.

And now this. My first time stepping out of a cop car. The rational part of me tried to assure me that literally no one cared about me getting out of that cop car. But then there was that other part of me that was suddenly hyperaware of all the people staring at me as I got out. The judgemental looks, the whispers, they were all around me. Drawing in on me, closer and closer until I felt like I was suffocating. I squeezed my eyes shut. It was like high school again, post-that night. The filthy looks they threw at me. The animal blood they'd used to spell murderer on my locker. I guess that was my problem. I could never get over something, let it go. Instead I let the old memories come back to haunt me.

"Hey" Nick whispered giving me a gentle nudge. I forced my eyes open, people were going about mind their own business not a single person cared to spare a glance at us. "You good?" Nick asked a small frown evident on his face.

"I'm fantastic" I answered him in a bright cheery tone causing the frown to turn upside down bringing out the cute dimples. "Well as fantastic as someone walking into a police station can be" I added causing him to snort.

The police station was old and shabby but the old brickwork seemed strong and reliable. Yes the place would come apart eventually, but not any time soon. Stepping into the building it was worse than I could've imagined. The cracking paint on the walls seemed to be covered in dark brown stains. There was even a small hole in one of the walls. Corners seemed to be invaded by out six legged friends that still caused a shudder to go through me. After everything I'd gone through, it seemed strange how much these creepy crawlies affected me. As if that wasn't enough, soft white strands spun by the little creatures seemed to hang from the ceiling in certain parts of the room. One step into the room and I already wanted to go back. Didn't they have health inspections or anything? I couldn't imagine how a place like this could've possibly passed a health inspection.

"This way" the woman spoke from behind us startling me. She placed a hand on my back practically shoving me forward. Leading us into another room which seemed to have worse lighting than dimly lit one we were in previously, she left taking my mother with her.

Not wanting to take a seat in the broken seats which had gum sticking on the top of them, I choose to stand. "What do you think this is about?" I asked asking the question is everyone's mind.

"Maybe since they found out you guys are actually alive, they decided to review the case or something?" Caleb suggested shrugging.

"How did they find out we were alive anyway and how did they know where to find us?" Becca asked.

"Do you think it had something to do with that guy that was taking pictures of us?" Skye asked.

"I for one think we should all relax" Nick piped in with his usual cool demeanor. "I mean what could they possibly have against us? The fact that we're alive when everyone thought we were dead? I'm pretty sure that's not a legal offence" he said.

"I don't mean to sound selfish here" I started causing Becca to scoff in the background. I swear she always did that, one of these days she's going to choke on her own spit doing so and wind up dead. "But was mom right?" I asked turning to Caleb. "Can we really get charged with withholding information".

"What no" Caleb answered, "Mom doesn't know what she's talking about half the time. As far as I'm aware the cops can technically hold anything over you for knowing these guys were alive and not alerting them about it.

"Wait" Becca cut in suddenly sounding panicked. "What if they ask about what happened that night? We need to come up with a lie and get our story straight".

"Why do we need to come up with a lie?" Skye asked.

"So that they don't throw me in jail for the rest of my life" Becca exclaimed. "What happened was an accident" she said calming herself down. "I know that, you know that, but the problem is they won't believe it. We have no evidence, nothing to back up our story. So the best thing we can do is play dumb instead of pointing an accusing finger at Collin" she finished, taking a deep breath.

Collin? Was he the one at fault here? Yes I know we all fucked up in our own way, but was it right to put it all on Collin, to say he was the cause of all this? After all Collin wouldn't have done any of those things if it weren't for Logan who'd offered him the pill. So did that make Logan the villain here or was that Mason for fighting with him leading Collin to make the bad decision of taking the pill. I guess we could go like this, sticking the blame to everyone, but the truth was, we all had a hand in this.

After a few minutes we'd come up with lie and my mother returned looking bored as if she'd had an important meeting that she was late for and we were wasting her time. The officer came taking people and returning them only to take someone else with her. Alas she called me up, escorting me to her small office. Calling it small was an understatement, the room itself wasn't actually that small, it was just the way she'd crammed everything in, leaving a tiny patch of space. She gestured to the lumpy seat in front of me while taking her own seat behind her desk.

"So, Ivy was it?" she asked.

"Yes" I answered with a slight nod.

"Do you know why you're here?" she asked.

"Not really" I answered.

"Hmm, well I see you're missing friends have turned up alive and well" she stated.

"Yes, yes they have" I answered her trying to keep my answers short and curt.

"So you've reunited with Becca Gabrise and Skye Heartman. You wouldn't happen to know where Logan Woods is would you?" she asked peering intently at me.

"I would" I answered her, we'd agreed it would be okay to inform them of Logan's current location.

"And where would that be?" she prodded.

"At the Oakhill Sanctuary Rehab Centre" I answered her, the name of the place flashing in my memory.

"And what would Logan be doing there?" she asked.

"Getting the support he needs to overcome his alcohol and drug addictions" I answered calmly.

"I see. And you wouldn't also seem to know what became of Mason Voss and Collin Reeves, would you?" she asked.

"I have no idea" I answered her. Well there's another first lying to a police officer.

"Well the reason you're here is because we recently received an anonymous tip on you and your friend's whereabouts as well as information that had led us to believe we're dealing with a homicide investigation here" she explained.

"And I know you and your friends are hiding something, but it won't be long before I find out and bust you for it" she said leaning in as she spoke in a menacing tone.

"I don't know what you're talking about" I tried to say. "No one's dead" I wanted to say. But the words wouldn't leave my mouth. Because deep down I knew exactly what she was talking about and that two people were indeed dead. The question was, who else knew about this?
