It was 6.30 am when your alarm clock went off. Rubbing your eyes, you sight up, swinging your feet over the side of the bed. "Right, I'm up, I'm up." You grumbled at the clock. Your feet hit the cold hard floor sending a shock through your body, reviving you with energy. You made your way to the bathroom, turned on the shower and cleaned yourself before getting out and drying your hair with the wave of your wand. Already dried and dressed, you made your way to your mirror with your light back of make-up, applying as much as you felt necessary.

Swiftly slipping through your door, you began to make your way to the common room, heading to breakfast. You kept your head down as you came into the room full of Slytherins, instinctively speeding up so that you didn't have to speak to them. Quickly, you made your way to the Great Hall, starving due to the little amount of food you consume the night prior.

"Morning boys!" A gleeful smile on your face as you stuffed a pancake in your face before even sitting down.

"Morning, Triwizard Champion. I guess you're forgetting about us already now that you're a celebrity." Xander teased, nudging you with his elbow.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means where the hell did you disappear off to last night? We cam searching for you, we found Harry who said you went with Snape to see Dumbledore. Dumbledore said you had already left." Cedric said, furrowed brows and a tinge of worry in his eyes.

"Yeah, well I just needed an early night. Tiresome being a Triwizard Champion and all. Plus, I may have screamed at Dumbledore, Snape, McGonagall and the rest that followed after Harry was picked. I might have told them it was bullshit that he had to continue the tournament." Wincing at the memories that invaded your thoughts, you gulped down your pumpkin juice as your two best friends laughed.

"You did not." Xander squoze out his words between laughs.

"Oh I did."

The rest of breakfast consisted of Xander and Cedric bullying you about what happened, as you went into detail about what you said and how you apologised, leaving out the part where Snape smiled and called you buy your first name of course. Since it was so out of character, you didn't want them to think anything suspicious.

The bell rang signalling for your first lesson of the day, Defence Against the Dark Arts. This would be your first lesson with Mad-eye, you had heard interesting things about the man's teaching methods.

You filed your way into the classroom along with the other students, taking a seat with Cedric, as Xander sat behind you with one of his other Hufflepuff mates. The four of you made small talk before your new professor hobbled his way between the tables to the front of the class., causing the class to hush in his rather intimidating presence.

"Alastor Moody. Ex-Auror, ministry malcontent, and your new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher." He spoke with a rather noticeable Irish accent, "I am here because Dumbledore asked me. End of story, goodbye, the end," a harsh tone in is voice that relaxed as he asked, "any questions?"

"Yeah," Xander spoke, "how'd you lose your eye? And how'd you get those scars?"

"Xander!" You scolded through gritted teeth. Sometimes that boy had no filter.

"You, Mr Atwood, don't want to know how I lost my eye. Now on with the lesson."

"Wow." Cedric exclaimed after the double lesson, "that was different."

He was right, it was different. Alastor Moody had a rather different approach than the other D.A.D.A professors you had. He took, as he had said himself, "a more practical approach". In that lesson, you covered the unforgivable curses, which was strange as it was a 4th year topic, but you brushed it off since in your fourth year you had Gilderoy Lockheart, and that man could not teach one bit. All he did was stare at himself in the mirror and talk about himself.
