Brandon's Point of View

I walked around the corner of the school hall. I gripped the bouquet of roses in my right hand tightly. I held a scrapbook in the other hand.

I've been keeping these presents in my locker so they're safe, saving them for just before when Nikki and I are going to get ready for the Valentines Day dance.

Today was Valentines Day. I was going to the dance with Nikki today, and I was so nervous I could die. I come around one more corner and Nikki comes into view. She's looking through her locker and grabbing her things.

She's wearing a red sweater and black pants. She's wearing black boots with small gold spikes in the sides. I look up at her and her hair is curled beautifully. Her lips are a soft red, and her eyes are sparkling. She turns her head and her eyes meet mine. I can feel my face heating up as I approach her.

My heart pounds in my chest loudly and I pray she can't hear it.

Nikki: "H-hi Brandon."

I take a closer look at her face and I can swear she's blushing. Is she nervous too?

Nikki: "I-I haven't even changed yet. Why are you at my locker?"

She looks down at my hands and looks up at me again. I clear my throat.

Brandon: "T-These are for you."

I was hoping my voice would come out more calm, but it comes out wobbly. Not good. I hold out the items out to her.

She gently takes them and smiles beautifully.

Nikki: "Thank you so much, Brandon!"

She looks up at me and walks up a little closer. She kisses my cheek and I stand there speechless. I look at her and she's looking away, putting the gifts in her locker. I look down at my feet and try to pretend I'm not on cloud nine. Act smooth.

Brandon: "Y-your welcome...."

SOOO smooth.

Nikki looks down and smiles. She looks up at me and she looks like she's glowing.

Nikki: "I'm going to get ready, okay Brandon? See you later...."

She's looking away again, and she grabs her bag and walks away slowly. She stops for a second and looks back.

Nikki: "Thanks for asking me out tonight. I appreciate it."

She walks away quickly after that, and I'm left there, probably really red.

It had taken a lot of guts to ask Nikki or again. I was so nervous, but so happy afterwards. I smile.

I realize the dance is in 20 minutes. I better go.

I should meet up with Marcus and Theo and get our tickets.
