"Alassia." She turned upon hearing her name and smiled at her sister beside her. They were out on the plain where they lived. They could still see their house in the distance, waiting for their parents to join them in watching the stars. "Mommy and Daddy are taking a long time", Aranel pouted. Alassia nodded and turned back toward the house and a look of shock and horror spread across her face.

"A-Aranel", she studdered, her sister turned and screamed. Their house was on fire! She got up and ran, tripping toward the house as fast as she could, tears streaming out behind her.

"M-Mommy! Daddy!", Aranel screamed from behind her. She finnaly reached the house, or, where it had stood. All that was there now was a tower of flames, pieces of wood covered in ash that had flown out of the flames. All she could do was stare, tears streaking down her face. Aranel was curled up next to her sobbing into her knees.

"Alassea. Alassea." She blinked into the early morning. "Alassea, get up, its time to go." Aranel continued to shake her dazed sister. Rubbing her eyes Alassia sat up, it was just a dream. "Geeze im starting to sound like you."

"Sorry," she laughed.

"You were seeing it again wern't you?" She looked over to see Aranel, her face downcast. She knew what Aranel ment. It was a nightmare they both had for almost the last 10 years. The night their parents had died. "Even today I don't how it happened. Mom had an amulet of fire, how could she be hurt by it?" All humans were born with a special power contained in something. Men had colored marks on their skin and women had some sort of gem. You were born with it, and it not only held your power but your life force. She looked at her own amulet, chained around her neck. It was a pale grey rhombus that shone purple in the light, Aranels was the exact same.

"Come on", she said standing, we need to go into that town and get supplies. "Il go to the right and you go left, well meet back here after." They had learned long ago that they couldnt be seen together. Twins were something that just didn't happen in Lunica, they got weird looks and were chased away.

"Catch!" Aranel called throwing her a piece of string. She tied up her long reddish-peach hair as Aranel pulled a hood over her head. "Better not give any chance for people to notice were twins, last time their were alot of soliders in that town." Of course, Lord Taranis's soliders. If the evil lord found out they were twins, then their death was assured.

"Right. I'm going now, be careful." she nodded and took off threw the trees, slowing when she came to the outside ofthe town. The dirt streets were lined with old, rundown houses. Many looked burned and she couldn't see any of the people. What happened here? She turned toward one of the outise shops. "Hello? Is anyone there?" she called. Suddenly she heard shuffleing and an old women came into veiw. She looked frightened as she slowly crept forward. Her skin was pale and her eyes clouded over.

"What are you dong here?" eyeing her.

"I-I just stopped to get a few supplies... w-what happened here?"

"There are no supplies he...", she stopped, catching sight of her amulet. "No....NO! You must get out of here! Hurry! Don't let the soliders see you! It's not safe!" the women yelled, her hands out in front of her, glanceing around warily. "Go.Go quickly. Before they take it. Go!" She started to back away when suddenly a scream echoed through the town. Aranel. She ran toward the direction the screams were coming from, stopping so quickly she almost fell over. Two soliders had Aranel! One had her arms  behind her back and another in front.

" Well well, looks like we missed one," he said, forcing her chin up. "Too bad, shes kinda pretty", he smirked. Aranel glared and pulled her face away.

"Aranel!", Alassia yelled, raming into the guard that had been to busy talking. Suddenly 2 red streaks appeared and jumped onto the guard holding Aranels rists. And where he had been stood two fox creatures appeared, Surion and Amras.

"Alassia, Aranel! Run!", Surion yelled pushing them to move. They ran into the outskirts of town and into the forest, taking twists and turns that anyone else would get lost in. They only stopped when the village was completely out of veiw and they were miles away.

"We cant leave you two alone at all can we? Always getting into trouble." Amras yawned, streatching. "So needy." They all dropped to the ground, tired and still a bit scared. " Sometimes I wonder why we bonded with them", he turned toward his brother.

"I somtimes wonder myself", Surion answered laying beside Amras. Alassia sat and watched the brothers for a few moments. They looked alot alike but if you paid attention she wondered how anyone got them conffused. Surion was a dark red with streaks of gold and white rippling through his fur. Amras had it to, but he was more of a rusty color and had a single white paw. And while he had green eyes, Surion had brown. They all had been together for as long as she could remember. Some creatures chose to bond with a person insted of living alone in the wild. Surion had bonded to her, and Amras had bonded to Aranel. Deep in thought she didn't notice the fox brothers sneak away. Suddenly Surion jumped into her lap from the tree she was sitting under causeing her to bump her head into the tree and Amras was sittingon top of her sistrs face laughing histaricly.

"Oooh yeah! Thats what you get for making us come save you after you told us to stay away from the town!" Amras called to both of them.
