"How dare you stand where he stood." Harry stepped forwards towards Snape. Snape watched as Harry drew his wand, pointing it at him. "Tell them how it was that night. Tell them how you looked him in the eye, a man who trusted you... and killed him. Tell them!" Harry shouted.

McGonagall stepped forward and sent a volcanic blast Snape's way. Pivoting, he parried the spell barely and sent it ricocheting around the room. Chaos ensued.

McGonagall, leapt forth, with another spell. Snape stood at the epicenter, parried spell after spell with astonishing skill deflecting two of the curses into the Carrows.

Snape took the measure of the room and swept his wand over his head, reducing the torches that lined the wall to smoke and pitching the Hall into total darkness.

As students screamed, a great whooshing sound filled the Hall and some flying thing flickered past the windows, rattling the panes before blasting through one.

Instantly, the torches burst back to life. "Coward! COWARD! And he didn't even stay to fight!" McGonagall shouted at the disappearing silhouette of Snape. She then turned to Harry and I.

"Mr. and Miss Potter, do you mind telling me what you're doing here, which, I trust you realize, is an act of complete and utter lunacy?" She asked.

I shrugged. "We're Gryffindors."

She smiled at that then turned to the room. "All right! Settle down! Settle down! It appears that your Headmaster, to use the common phrase, has done a bunk." Cheers arose around the room. Even McGonagall can't help but smile.

Just then, I watched Harry wince slightly, pressing his fingers to his temple. "Harry..." I put a hand on his shoulder.

A slow rumbling filled the Hall. Harry, fingers trembling with pain, glanced up, saw dark clouds coagulating in the Enchanted Ceiling. McGonagall followed his gaze, as do others, watching as the clouds shifted eerily, like blots of blood.

Suddenly the flames in the torches along the walls trembled as a chill breeze consumed the room. The Hall slowly dimmed. All grew progressively silent when... a girl screamed, her voice rising and rising.

Students scrambled to find the source of the scream, only to notice a young girl on the floor covering her ears and screaming as if she were possessed. Everyone watched, chilled. Another person screamed somewhere in the Hall, then another. A voice suddenly bloomed in my head. And looking at others, it was going through everyone's head.

I know that many of you will want to fight. Some of you may even think this wise. But this is folly. I wish you no harm. I have great respect for the students of Hogwarts. I was once one myself after all. I ask for but one thing and if granted no magical blood shall be spilt...Give me Harry and Y/N Potter. Do this and none shall be harmed.Give me Harry and Y/N Potter and I shall leave Hogwarts untouched.Give me Harry and Y/N Potter and you will be rewarded.

With that, the whisper receded and those in the Hall slowly surface back into the prickling ambience of the here and now. Above us, the clouds evaporated in the Enchanted Ceiling. Every eye in the room seemed to look at me and Harry. For a moment, silence. Then, Pansy Parkinson jabbed her finger at us.

"But he's there! She's there too! Someone grab them!" She shouted. Instinctively, Ginny stepped in front of Harry, wand drawn. Tewkesbury did the same with me.

Then, as one, the Gryffindors assembled in a line and face towards the Slytherins, shielding Harry and I. Moments later, the Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs do the same.

Then slowly, some Slytherins parted from the group and stood with us as well. The sweet moment was interrupted with Filch bursting through the Hall. "Students out of bed! Students in the corridors!" Filch stopped dead under McGonagall's eye.

"They're supposed to be out of bed, you blithering idiot!"

"Oh. Sorry." Filch began to turn away.

(I'm a Slytherin (not because of Draco). And I didn't like how they sent them to the dungeons. Not all Slytherins are bad smh. Peter Pettigrew was Gryffindor and look how he turned out. They would have won the war faster if us badass Slytherins were able to fight and I stand by that.)

"Wait! As it turns out, Mr. Filch, your arrival is most opportune. If you would, I'd like you to lead Miss Parkinson and the rest of Slytherins who don't want to defend Hogwarts from the Hall." McGonagall said. Pansy followed Filch out, with a handful of Slytherins. Most of them stayed.

McGonagall turned to me and Harry. "I presume you have a reason for returning. What is it you need?" She asked.

"Time. As much as you can give us." I said.

"Do what you have to do. I'll secure the castle." She nodded. Neville and Ginny flanked McGonagall as she swept out of the Great Hall and into the courtyard. Flitwick and other members of the DA including Seamus trailed after. I walked with them, I wanted to see what McGonagall had in mind.

"Let me get this straight, Professor. You're giving us permission to do this?" Neville asked.

"That is correct, Longbottom." McGonagall said.

"To blow it up. Boom?" Neville asked.

"Boom." McGonagall stated.

"Wicked." Neville left along with Seamus to another direction.

"You realize, of course, that nothing we do will be able to keep out You-Know-Who indefinitely." Flitwick squeaked.

"That doesn't mean we can't hold him up." Professor Sprout countered.

"That doesn't mean we can't hold him up." McGonagall repeated and nodded. "And his name is Voldemort, Filius. You might as well use it. He's going to try to kill you either way." With that, McGonagall wheeled, raising her wand and pointing it in the direction of the Great Hall.

"Piertotum Locomotor!" She shouted. Instantly, all along the corridor statues and suits of armor came to life on their plinths. As McGonagall and the others watched, the statues paraded forward. "Hogwarts is threatened! Man the boundaries and protect us! Do your duty to our school!"

As the statues thundered past, heading toward the viaduct, McGonagall watched with evident pleasure.

"I've always wanted to use that spell."
