After many hours of cramping dancing practice in the empty ballroom, the stubborn princess gave up on Beth.

“You really can’t dance can you?” Kate placed her hands on her hips and shaking her hair away from her face Kate sighed.

“Sorry,” Beth apologized, wiping the sweat from her brow, “I’m just not used to swiping long moves or quick steps. The order of each step, I can’t memorized them!” Pain was shooting up my legs from my feet and my back ached.

“I know, I know. You don’t have to know everything in one day. At least you have steady legs, very withstanding.” All I wanted to do was sit down right now. These skirts got heavier and heavier through out the day. First to much sitting then to much standing.

“Let us call this to an end shall we? You will have a few more days before you need to be ready.” Kate says as she walks to the door, “You don’t want to be too tired before the wedding.” Wedding? What wedding? I ask Kate these question quickly.

“My sisters wedding, to sir Kelt remember?” I do remember I also remember yelling at the king for bringing me here.

“That’s soon?” She nods, opening the door again, “It’s in one week actually.” She helps me back to my room leaving me with a goodbye. I shut the bedroom door behind me, there was a candle burning on the dresser next to the door. Gripping the hold of the candle I bring it around the room. Lighting the rest of the candles before going to the bathroom.

“Bethany?” I jump almost out of my skin before I recognize the voice. Jaden.

“You shouldn’t scare me so.” Whirling around to face him, standing in the shadows of wall.

“Sorry, I was just making sure it was you.” Who else would it be? I asked myself.

“Oh, okay, well I’m just going to take a quick wash before going to bed.” He nodded, I hope he didn’t see how dismayed I was after today activists.

“Should I call in your maids?” He asked reaching for the long rope at the side of the door.

“Shhure.” I say slowly, “Why not?” Jaden rang the bell calling for my ladies.

“I’ll be outside if you need anything, Bethany.” I did one of the curtsy I learn while dancing, showing off my skill for balanced feet. Jaden cracked a small smile has he placed a hand on his chest then bowing from the waist.

The ladies stream in one by one after Jaden left, my heart fluttered at the thought of him guarding for my safety. Then I thought about what he was guarding me from. Living in the forest the only danger was the wild beast that roam, animals that I could hunt down if they troubled.

But here, I don’t know who is on my side or against me. Tricker and lies, hidden traps. This place isn’t a home any more then a cave is.

“What is wrong, Bethany?” One of the Ladies asked, I didn’t know who, I was just so tired. Tired and sad. I slopped against the wall as everything crashed down on me. She cried out when the pain hit her.

“I’m never going home am I?” The Ladies all looked down in shame, she cried increasingly. The Ladies tried to comfort her but it didn’t work much, when the tears ran out they got the bath ready.

Bethany soaked in the warm bubbles of the bath and eventually fell asleep in the water. The Ladies dried her and clothed her, half-dragging half-walking Bethany to her bed and under the covers.
