The Hospital

Ash woke up, only to see that they were in a completely white room, with very little colour. Slowly, he sat up, looking around confused. He noticed that he was in a bed, and he was now wearing a hospital gown. Slowly, and as if he was half asleep, Ash slides the blanket off of him and moved to sit on the edge of the bed.

"Is this where you go when you die?" Ash muttered to himself, trying to compose himself and figure out what had happened.

That was when he heard the door to the room he was in open, so he slowly turned to see who had entered. As he turned, he noticed that a woman, dressed in a doctor's uniform was standing by the door, holding a clipboard.

"I see you're awake," She smiled, composing herself and walking over to the edge of the bed.

Ash nodded and started to look around the room once again. That was when he realised that he was in a hospital, yet he still couldn't remember what had happened. The nurse realised this and walked over and sat next to him on the bed.

"You were in a car accident," The nurse sighed, putting the clipboard next to her on the bed.

Ash looked at the nurse confused. He couldn't remember the car accident. The last thing he could remember was him, Wilbur, and Kai singing along to songs as they headed towards the warehouse.

"How long have I been here?" Ash asked, still looking at the nurse confused.

"You've been unconscious for a day," The nurse answered, holding her hands in her lap. "Your father went to the cafeteria to get something to eat,"

"What about my friends, the two who were in the car with me?"

The nurse took a deep breath and looked at her hands as if she was trying to find the words to say. Ash took this as a bad sign, and soon enough, the anxiety set in. All he could think was that something bad had happened to Kai and Wilbur.

"Your friends are fine," The nurse said, fidgeting with the ring that was on her ring finger. "One of them is still unconscious from the drugs we had to give, but the other is awake,"

Ash let out a sigh of relief. If something bad had happened to them, he wouldn't know what he would have done. All he knew is that he would have been filled with guilt for getting them into a car accident.

"I don't remember what happened," Ash stated.

The nurse returned her eyes to Ash and smiled a caring smile as if she really cared for him. However, he knew that she was only smiling like that, to ease his mind and because it was her job to look after her patients and make sure they didn't panic too much.

"That's completely normal," She smiled. "We are going to have to run a few tests, but once they are done, you'll be able to see your friends. Would you like to see your father before we begin?"

"No, it's fine," Ash replied.

The nurse nodded, picked up the clipboard, and hurried out of the room. After a few minutes of sitting in silence, the nurse returned, however, this time she was with a few other people, one of the nurses pushing a wheelchair towards the bed. Before he knew it, the nurse who was pushing the wheelchair helped Ash get off the bed and put him in the wheelchair. Once they made sure he was comfortable, the nurses started making their way out of the room he woke up in and down a long corridor.

Ash didn't bother asking where they were taking him. Honestly, he didn't care that much. All he cared about was getting these tests over and making sure that the other two were doing ok.

Soon enough, Ash and the nurses arrived outside a room with a sign on the wall next to the door that read, "MRI". Within a few seconds, one of the nurses opened the door and the nurse who was pushing Ash wheeled him into the room. Then, everyone else left and it was just him and the nurse pushing him left in the room.
