I pulled into the driveway at around five-thirty. I exhaled as I turned off the car and unbuckled my seatbelt. As I got out of the car, I saw in the window of the house Zane, Kawaii~Chan, and Vylad all watching a movie in the living room. I smiled, thankful that they seemed to have had a good day. I walked in and announced that I was home. Kawaii~Chan grinned from ear to ear, pausing the movie asking me; "Oh Garroth! I'm so glad you're back! Do you want to watch the rest of this movie with us? You can sit next to me!"
She patted the cushion besides her, her eyes still sparkling with excitement. Every time I look into her eyes though, I can't help but to be terrified. I remember when they looked at me with fear and how I didn't even hesitate to hurt her. Zane seemed to notice my uneasiness and said; "I think he should go upstairs and rest Four. Seven has had a long day."
I mentally thanked him, still feeling guilty. I carried my stuff upstairs, hearing that KC had unpaused the movie. As I closed the door of my bedroom, I groaned with exhaustion and collapsed on my bed. My new job was tiring and long. It didn't even pay that much. It just...it got it me away...
Unfortunately, my nap was disturbed when I heard my phone ding. I rolled my eyes but, smiled seeing that Lucinda had texted me. But, that soon went away as I read it.Hey Garroth! Don't be mad at me but, I need you to come get Laurance...ITS AN EMERGENCY!
I sighed, wondering what the hell he managed to do in the span of eight hours while I was gone. I got up and put on my jacket again, going back downstairs.
"Where are you going?" Vylad asked, still leaning on the couch relaxed.
"Laurance got into some trouble at Lucinda's. I'll be back in a bit,", I answered before rushing out the door. I ran down the street and up to the witch's door, knocking rapidly. The woman herself opened it, looking relieved to see me.
"Thank Irene you're here,", She sighed, letting me in. "He won't listen to me and he's been here for hours."
My eyes widened then rolled once I saw the extent of the situation before me. Laurance was lazily laying on the couch, a cup of what I saw was coffee in his hand. It took him a while to steady his gaze before smiling wide at me, saying; "Heyyyy Gar! You're back!"
"What happened?", I immediately asked Lucinda to which she explained; "I may of have spiked the coffee...not much but, I guess I have a higher tolerance than him. We had around four cups. I'm so sorry."
"It's okay,", I assured her gently but, got firm once I directed my gaze to the brunette. "It's not your fault."
He seemed to shrink into himself, him realizing even in his drunken state that he did something wrong. I walked over to him and kneeled down, asking him as calmly as I could; "Can we please go home?"
He smirked leaning closer to me; "Only if you carry me~"
"I'm not doing that Laurance."
"Whyyyy? You have super strength!" I winced at his volume of voice, it gradually getting louder the more he talked. "Well whatever! Lucinda and I are having a great time!" He spat into my face, me looking back at Lucinda who only awkwardly smiled at him.
I grabbed his wrists, taking the coffee out of his hand, trying to pull him off the couch. He whined like a child as I tried to do it.
"Ow! That hurts Garroth!"
I froze, slightly nervous that I was hurting him but, I saw that he was only being dramatic. I finally was able to hoist him up, hooking his arm around my shoulders, guiding him out of Lucinda's house. "Here, I'll come with you,", She said, grabbing a potion from her kitchen. "I have something that'll knock him out until the alcohol is out of his system."
I looked at the potion with absolute confusion then, to my friend who just huffed, explaining; "It's safe. I promise. He's just lucky that I'm not some witch that wants take advantage of him."
I agreed and guided the two back to my place. As we through the door, the three on the couch looked shocked to see Laurance in the state that he was in.
"Whoa! Laurance, are you okay?", Vylad asked, looking genuinely concerned for the brunette. He just laughed slightly, hiccuping a bit before saying; "I'm soooo drunk! You should try it!"
"He'll pass,", I snapped at him, pulling him upstairs. Kawaii~Chan looked up at us from the foot of the stairs, asking; "Do you need any help?"
"No...No...I'll be fine,", I say, lugging him up the steps, with a small smile towards her. "Lucinda's got me covered."
She winked at Kawaii~Chan before rushing up the steps after us. I heard Zane from downstairs say; "I thought Eight couldn't get more annoying..."
I basically pulled Laurance into the room, having a little tussle with him when he gripped the doorframe refusing to go in. Once we were in Lucinda closed the door and got the potion ready. "Keep him steady and try having him sit on the bed."
"He's not a doll Luci,", I say, still struggling. She just urged me to go along and I kindly asked Laurance; "Hey Laur...can you do me a favor and sit on the bed for me?"
He stopped for a moment before smirking wider at me. I felt him grab my hips and say; "Make me."
He was so close to me that I could smell the coffee on his breath. Blushing like mad, I just stuttered out; "Laur, stop. Lucinda is here and you're embarrassing me."
"Ooooh come onnnnn,", He whined, still grinning at me flirtatiously. He hiccuped again at the end. "We can do it just like last time~"
My heartbeat was starting to pick up and I felt blood rush to my head. Lucinda was right there, hearing all of this. I even noticed her slow down once she heard the last part. I finally was able to push him down on the bed but, it seemed to only make it worse for me. "Oooo are you gonna top me this time mister?"
"Laurance shut up!", I yelled, keeping him down on the bed. His head was on the pillow as his eyes looked into mine and I saw something sincere in them. Like he was sorry. He spoke out gently but, a slur still to his voice; "I'm sorry if I'm upsetting you Gar..," yet his smirk returned as he said, "but you're just too damn irresistible right now."
Everything went so fast after that. I felt his hands cup my cheeks as he forced me down. His lips slammed onto mine and my heart officially stopped. They still felt soft and gentle against my own. Part of me wanted to kiss back and go along with his plan but, I knew it was wrong. I tried prying myself off of him, not wanting to hurt him, but he wouldn't budge. I hated doing this but, I used my strength, forcing his shoulders down as I pushed myself up.
"Ow! What the hell Gar—"
"Lucinda now!", I shouted.
She took no time to splash the potion onto him, immediately causing him to pass out. There was complete silence between the two of us as I tried to catch my breath. My hands were still on his shoulders as my heart rate desperately tried to return to a normal pace. I finally spoke out with as much courage as I could, saying; "L-Luci...I promise it's not what it looked like."
She only frowned deeply, looking at me with empathy as she said; "I know it was..."
I breathed out, standing up straight as I combed my hair back, still trying to calm down from the event that unfolded. I felt like bursting into tears of embarrassment and relief at the same time. Finally someone knew besides Cadenza but, came at the absolute wrong time. I turned to face her finally, her gasping slightly.
"Garroth...your eyes are green."
I shut them tightly, rubbing them while saying; "S-Sorry..."
When I opened them again, she looked relieved, signaling to me that it was back to normal. She took the time to ask; "So...what to tell me what's exactly going on? How long?"
"It was two years," I answered her truthfully but, she seemed to be thrown off. She clarified; "Was?"
"I-It's over now. W-We didn't want a-anyone to know...and now there's n-no p-point on telling anyone."
She frowned again, coming up to me, resting a hand on my shoulder, her thumb rubbing it comfortingly. She looked completely understanding and I questioned why we never told her in the first place. Besides Cadenza, she seemed like the best option. She sighed and said; "Why didn't you tell anyone?"
I looked down and admitted; "I don't remember. Nerves maybe?"
"And you two aren't-"
"N-No. Since last May anyway."
Her eyes widened as she looked into mine. "You went through that by yourself? This summer? On top of everything?"
I chuckled, saying; "W-Wasn't the best summer for me then, huh?"
She didn't laugh and just hugged me tightly. She whispered to me; "I'm so sorry Garroth...if I would've known-"
"Hey. It's okay,", I say, hugging her back. "You couldn't have known. I was over it anyway by like the second week. I'm fine now, I promise."
She parted from me and smiled gently, her eyes still showing sincerity. She combed my hair away from my face slightly, as if she were my mom or something. "Let me know if you want to talk about it or something."
"Thanks...please don't tell anyone. I don't want to make things worse."
She nodded, looking down at the now passed out brunette on the bed. She asked; "Have you talked about it with him?"
"Not really,", I shrugged. "It usually just ends up in a fight."
"Maybe you should."
"Why?"
"Because...sometimes alcohol reveals the truth out of people. Sad but true."
I looked at her like she was crazy and insisted; "We're not like that anymore. Besides, when he's completely sober he doesn't even playfully flirt at me."
She smirked at me, saying; "Well, I would just ask him about it. He is going to want to know what happened tonight when he wakes up."
"I guess..."
She took a deep breath as she combed her own hair back with her hands. She looked up at me and gave me one of those smile that could make anyone happy. "Do you want to go grab some fast food for dinner? I don't think your chef is gonna be able to cook tonight. I also just want to hear about everything."
I snickered but, took her up on that offer, grabbing my wallet. She only guided my hand back down and said; "My treat."
"Gee, thanks Mom,", I mocked her, to which she laughed and said; "Someone on this street has to be."
With that, we walked back down stairs, leaving the brunette to snore away.
