Chapter 27: Vytal Beginning

3rd Person POV:

In the fields of Patch, Y/N and Ruby can be seen walking together.

Y/N: Are you really okay with me coming here?

Ruby: It's fine, I haven't really brought anyone else here except my dad and Yang and I want to show her my first girlfriend.

Y/N blushes from her words as the two make it to a gravestone with the inscription of "Summer Rose - Thus Kindly I Scatter" seen written on it.

Ruby: (lowering her hood, smiling sadly downward as Y/N watches from a distance) Sorry I haven't come by in a while. Things have been... well, things have been, pretty busy. Dad couldn't really make it since he's getting ready to take me to the Vytal tournament.

Ruby: (shrugs) He's still teaching at Signal. But he told me that he's going to be on some mission soon. I think he misses adventuring with you. (looks forlornly) I miss you too.

Ruby: (pause) Haven't gotten kicked out of Beacon yet! So that's cool. I think being on a team with Yang helps. Keep her in line... That was a joke. She's actually a really great fighter! You can tell she's learned a lot from Dad! Oh, so are Weiss and Blake.

Ruby: Oh! They're my teammates! Together, we form Team RWBY! And yes, before you ask, that does cause a lot of confusion.

Y/N let's out a small giggle before settling down as she blushes from Ruby's gaze as the rose girl smiles before turning back to the gravestone.

Ruby: Anyways, I made a bunch of new friends, and then I met some... let's just say, uh, odd teachers. Oh! We've also stopped some bad guys, too! I guess it's like they say: "like mother, like daughter"! I still wonder why Ozpin let me into the school early.

Ruby: But uh, I guess he'll tell me one day. You know how he is. It's funny, the more I get to know him, the more he's starting to sound like Uncle Qrow.

Ruby: Oh, I also wanted to tell that I have a girlfriend. Her name's Y/N L/N, and we met the day I got accepted into Beacon Academy, I learned that she was a really strong fighter called the Red Eyed Corruption, she's really cool and really nice despite what she says about herself.

Y/N looks down embarrassed as Ruby nods at her to come forward.

Ruby: Here she is.

Y/N: It's really nice to meet you Miss Rose, I learned alot about you from Ruby and Yang. I'm glad I was given a chance to meet you because I want to tell you about how grateful I am about meeting both your daughters and that I'll do everything in my power to be with them.

Ruby blushes from her words as Y/N smiles before continuing to speak.

Y/N: I'll do my best for them.

Ruby: Y/N...

The two gaze at each other before closing in for a kiss as the two girls hold hands and head back to Ruby's home. Suddenly, crowds are seen cheering in the stands as a field of volcanic earth and icy glaciers are below.

Ruby fires and swings her Crescent Rose to defend against an unknown enemy as Blake exchanges blows with Reese Chloris, the blades of her Gambol Shroud colliding with the hoverboard of her opponent until she flips away, readies herself, and charges in again.

Behind her, Weiss waves her Myrtenaster as the sound of her mystical power is heard, and finally Yang dodges the explosive force of Arslan Altan's fist before returning fire with her own Ember Celica.

High above the action, Professor Port and Doctor Oobleck are sitting at a sportscaster's desk, with a microphone between them and the holographic image of the four kingdoms' symbols united as one.
