Chapter two

I walk to class with Lewis and Maya. They talk to each other so I don't have to be present in the conversation. We all have English together, so we stop in front of Mr. Hudsons classroom.
"So yeah, I took Addison to see the movie but she dragged Leia with us which ruined the movie for me." Maya told Lewis. Her expression dropped when she remembered I was there with them.
"No offense Noah, I forgot" she apologizes.
"It's fine Maya, you didn't mean it like that." I sigh.
"It's not my problem my girlfriend is an asshole to everyone except me." I continue.

I look to the door and see Mr. Hudson carrying a pile of books to the classroom. They look heavy so I jump up and jog to him to help. We carry the books and he thanks me while I return to my seat. I don't enjoy school, but I'm still good at it. I get good grades without trying and when I'm nice to the teachers I get them to like me and give me a better grade. Some call me manipulative but I don't think I am. I'm just charismatic and that's all.

I sit through English silently and soon I can move on to my next class. After english I have math and Russian and after that is lunchtime. I walk to the cafeteria alone. Most of my friends study French or Spanish so we don't have Russian classes together. I get a tray, pile some food on it and walk to the table we usually sit at. Soon Maya, Lewis and Killian join me after their French class. And soon enough Eleanor also joins us from her Spanish class. We all sit and patiently wait for Toby, soon realizing that he will probably skip lunch because of a free period he had.
"Ughh... I hate school. I could literally just go straight to work, like why do I need this stuff."Leia complains while walking to our table. She has been sitting with us for the four months that we've been dating. My friends don't like her sitting here because she only complains and makes rude comments towards them.
"Yea, well anyway... As I was saying the cheerleading coach wants us to interact with you guys more, so we can actually cheer for you and not just pretend to be interested or something." Maya explains.
"So I was thinking, that we could go bowling or something. Are you guys down?" she asks.
"Sure, I'm free all week... no exams baby!" Lewis yells.
"Oh god, I'm so jealous. I have a math test and I have to pick what third language I'm gonna pick for next semester." Eleanor says.
"That's tough. Did you guys hear that Maddie and Jackson are together?" Leia starts.
"I'm like so shocked. 'Cuz like Jackson is hot and rich. He could get anyone and he chose Maddie. Ew, i wouldn't." she continues.
No one comments and everyone just turns to look at their hands. Maya rolls her eyes, says she's not hungry anymore and leaves the table. The silence makes me uncomfortable and the only one who doesn't seem bothered is Leia. She is scrolling through her phone and chewing her pink gum that she pops every two seconds.
"Leia, I think Addison just left and she looked sad. You should ask her what's up with her." I break the silence. She groans, grabs her black purse and walks away. Lewis exhales.
"Wow, that was the most awkward situation I've been in. And that includes catching my dad with his secretary." We all chuckle.
"When are you gonna dump her?" Killian asks. He keeps playing with his cross necklace as if he's worried about me freaking out because of his question.
"I don't know yet. I don't like her, but I don't want to break her heart." I say.
"You can't break something she doesn't have." Lewis mumbles with his mouth full with food. "Besides she has cheated on you like four times and you know it."
"I don't think kissing counts as cheating." I defend her. "Plus it was probably my fault, because I wasn't there for her enough"
"Bullshit" Eleanor says laughing. "She definitely went further with Ace and it's never your fault."
"I guess you're right. I'll break up with her soon." I say and look down.
"So, what do you guys have next?" I change the subject.
