I quickly rush back and forth shoving the groceries on the table before dashing back to the car for more. Maddox stares at me wide eyed as he eyes my movements.
"Hey can you put theses away for me please?" I asked as I get my hair up into a messy bun. He unhesitatingly nods at the mention of me speaking to him.
I watch him get to work as I pant. Heading to the room, I pull out grey yoga pants and one of my pale T-shirts. I stare at my reflection, scrunching up my nose.
I always use white.
I quickly pull out a black T-shirt and slip it on before turning to leave. I stop in my tracks seeing Maddox eye me curiously.
"I thought Dax was getting released tomorrow?" He questioned me. I nodded as I walked passed him.
"He is. Why?"
"Then where are you going?" He asked me. I quickly turned around, glaring at him.
"What the fuck do you want Maddox? You're always up my ass for something." I snapped. He stared at me unfazed.
"I promised Dax I would take care of you-"
"Yeah, you also promised him you wouldn't fuck me either" I spat. He looked away as he inhaled.
"Jennifer. It was a mistake, we both know that" He said tensely. I scoffed as I shook my head.
"You're pathetic" I snarled. His jaw ticked as he turned to face me, taking a step closer.
"So what? Now you want to act like it meant something. I was drunk" He said, agitation filled his features as he shook his head. I scrunched up my face, puzzled by his statement.
"I fucked up but it takes two to fuck" He snapped. He stared at me in disgust before shaking his head again and walking away.
I stared at the floor puzzled about what set this off in the first place. Shaking my head, I sighed before walking back to the car where Jace waited for me. I looked away, feeling his eyes look me up and down with each step.
"You cool?" He asked once I slipped inside the car. I nodded as I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Why?" I asked confused as I started up the car. He turned his body direction towards me as he pressed his lips together.
"Because you look liked you murdered a dog but the dog didn't die" He chuckled. I rolled my eyes, ignoring him as I made my way down the streets he pointed at.

An hour tops, I was driving up a driveway that belonged to a yellow house. I anxiously looked at the white tent they had set up outside in the front lawn. I waited until he stepped out before mimicking his actions.
Shutting the door behind me, I tried shoving my hands in my front pockets but failed miserable as they slid through. Forgetting, I was wearing yoga pants I wrapped my arms around my waist as I followed him inside the house.
A girl almost my height came rushing through and dashed into Jace's arms.
"You came!" She said, pulling back and staring at him in disbelief. He nodded as he tousled her hair. She smacked his hand away before landing her attention on me. I gave her a nervous wave as she stared between me and him.
"Princess? OH my god, you don't know how much I wanted to meet you" She breathed out, she reached out embracing me into a hug. I looked behind her at Jace who had his mouth ajar ready to correct her.
"No, Brit-"
"Jace" A deep husky voice echoed through the house. His sister pulled back as her eyes darted to his. I saw his jaw tensed as he took a step towards the house. His sister reached out, hugging him one last time before letting him walk into the house.
