. . .

I've been having more dreams, maybe nightmares, or should I say memories, lately. They've been becoming more frequent. Sometimes I don't remember what it's about, but I always remember the fear.

. . .

Our new Minecraft world Richard made with realms since he already had it, was a good distraction for me. We would usually call and play at the same time. Playing with other people was better than playing on my own, especially when I get to show my building skills to decent builders.

It's been a little over a week since we started the world and we already had two other of Hanna's friends join, I'm not too sure about them tho.

It's also been maybe two weeks since I moved into Phil and Kristen's home, it was going well. We had family time on Saturday and Sunday, and sometimes throughout the weak after dinner, if I didn't have too much homework or was going to be playing Minecraft with my friends, we would also hang out.

When we hung out it was usual watching a tv show, a movie, or playing a game, when Phil finally won a game of Uno he was so happy he bought a few other games to play. Kristen wasn't too happy with him but just found it too funny to care that much.
I definitely made sure to have time to hang out with everyone.

. . .

I had another dream/nightmare/memory about the rich family again last night and barely got any sleep. I already knew today was going to be a slow day.

"You ok you see tired?" Kristen asked when I came down for breakfast. "Yeah, just didn't sleep well." "Maybe try going to bed earlier tonight and see if that helps, it helps me sometimes." Phil told me. "Ok, thanks." He nodded.

"Want to stay home today and rest?" Kristen asked me. "I'm good, I just need to wake up." "Want some coffee?" Phil asked me. "Please." "Phil!" Kristen said. "Yes, Kristen?" "She's too young!" I cringed. "I was kidding." "How about some tea?"

"This tea is so expensive to spend on you.
It'll help you wake up.
Don't be greedy.
Yeah, you definitely need some.
Don't have any."

"Here you go, honey." The sound of a cup being placed inform of me snapped me out. "O-oh thanks."

I drank some tea while Kristen and Phil watched me. "Ah, that helped thanks." I said drinking the last of the tea. "Yeah sure." "If you need to come home early you can ill be here." Phil said. "Or we can drive you." Kristen suggested. "No thank you, you the tea helped. And walking will too." "Ok." "See you after school then!" I waved energetically before leaving.

. . .

Turns out it wasn't much of the tea that helped, just the adrenaline rush of wanting Phil and Kristen to think I was ok. I found that out when I got to my first class and almost passed out. Thankfully Jamie woke me up.

I managed to stay awake until lunch when I took a short nap instead of eating. Jamie, Hanna, and Richard were worried, that's nice to know they care, but I was ok so I told them I was sleepy and they stopped bothering me.

After lunch was worse, I had a short nap during one of my classes and eminently woke up from it. I was even more tired, after that nap during class I was too afraid to go back to sleep no matter how tired I was. I kept dozing off and mixing dreams up a bit. Like when one person talked I heard two.

.   .   .

"Hey, Alexa you sure your ok you seem really tired." Jamie said walking up to me.
"Stay awake and keep studying."
"Yeah... just tired."
"You better get a better grade after the retake."
"Ok, we'll make sure to get sleep when you get home. You want me to walk you home?"
"Don't walk home with a stranger, you don't have any friends."
"No thanks I'm good, I don't even live that far away."
"Ok..."

I didn't live far away but the walk felt longer than usual, which must because of how tired I am.

.   .   .

When I got home I headed straight to the couch and laid down. Maybe just a little nap won't hurt. I still have homework to do too.

.   .   .

"I love you honey, and never forget that." "Don't worry I won't." I giggled hugging her.

"I hate you! You're the reason why he left!" "Mommy?"
"Please don't listen to what I said I didn't mean it mommy was just upset." She hugged me. "Ok!"

"You do nothing but eat all the food!"
"I'm sorry."

"Useless child!"
"I didn't mean it."

"Stupid brat!"
"I'm sorry." She cried.
"It's ok mommy..."

Never once did she say what she said wasn't true.

"My little Alexa, this lion is just like you, he's brave. So please be brave and wait for mommy, ok?" She handed me a stuffed lion. "Ok, mommy!" I smiled with hope.

"When will I see mommy again?" I asked holding my lion.
"When she gets better."
"When will she get better?"
"I'm not sure."
"Why?"
"Because I don't know yet."
"When will you know?"
"I don't know."
"Can I visit her?"

"Stop asking me things I don't know! It's not like the doctors tell me everything or know everything! Even if I did know, why the hell would I tell a child their mother was on drugs!"

He looked at me with a shocked face.
"No, wait I didn't-"
I ran out of the room and called the number someone gave me in case anything happened.
Mr. John.

"Hello! I'm Alexa! Nice to meet you!"
"You too, now go clean."
"Clean better. Scrub harder. Wash more."

"Hey, I'm Alexa! Nice to meet you!"
"Here you can play with my toy."
"Mommm! Alexa took my toy I want a new one!"

"Hi, I'm Alexa nice to meet you."
"Wow, you guys sure are rich."
"You didn't score high enough? What happened to studying?"
"I'm sorry mom."
"What did I say about calling me, mom?!"

"I'm Alexa nice to meet you."
"Oh wow, good job #####."
"Alexa you should be more like your sister."
"She's not my sister."
"Well, she might be so stop that."
"Tch."
"What's with your attitude?"
"Nothing."
"Oh, are you afraid cause you're not great like me?"

"I'm Alexa nice to meet you."
"Why are you always so down all the time? We give you everything you could possibly wish for."
"But I didn't ask for it."

"I'm Alexa pleasure to meet you."
"Go buy me some more cigarettes."
"There's no money."
"Then steal them."
"That's wrong."
"Stop with that attitude or ill teach you another lesson."
"Yes sir."
"P-please s-stop it hurts."
"Its supposed to hurt!"
I coughed up blood.
"You only got one pack of cigarettes?!"
"That's all I c-could take without get-ting c-caught..." My raspy and dry voice coughed out.
"Talking back now are we?" He grabbed the knife from the kitchen.
"N-no."
"Disagreeing with me now?"
"I-I'm sorry sir I-I didn't mean t-to-"

I stayed in that house for the longest, a month.
A month was the longest time I've ever spent in someone else foster house.
