I get back to class after a boring lunch period, and I wait for class to begin. Just to give you the mental image, I sit in the back of the class, away from everyone. All of the desks around me are completely empty. I am scrolling through Instagram, looking at Marvel Fan Art, when all of a sudden, a boy sits down next to me. I assume at first that its just one of the many assholes of my grade, who was going to get up any minute, because who would want to sit next to me?

Well, ultimately I was wrong. After about five minutes of the mystery boy sitting there, I finally decide that its time to look up, maybe say hello. I pause the video I am watching, put away my headphones and then I finally look. I am just about to say hello when everything in my brain finally clicks. He is my dream boy. He is literally reading Little Women, hes wearing a sweater with the collar out of it, and he has medium length, wavy, brown hair. I literally cannot believe it. In my little hick town, the boy of my dreams suddenly appears. I pinch myself to make sure I am not dreaming. It occurs to me a second too late that I have been starring at him for over 30 seconds, when he asks,

 "Are you okay?"

"Yep. Yes. Sure am. My name is Amelia, yours?"

"Ferris"

"Well nice to meet you Ferris. Are you new here? Need a guide around town?"

"Yeah, actually I am. I moved here from New York, and honestly, a guide around town after school would be great. I've been here for 30 minutes and I can already tell that none of these guys are going to be my friend."

Wow. He is from New York, already likes no one here, AND he is willing to let me walk him around town? Ladies, gays, and theys, I just won the freaking lottery.

Its after school and I just met up with Ferris at the front door. I texted my mom to let her know where I was going, and we were off. I first took him to the cute little Ice Cream shop, Scoops, and then we walked around our teeny little place we like to call Main Street. Now, on Main Street, we have three stores that most everyone always goes in. A Vape Shop, a shop that sells alcohol, and stereotypical teen clothing store. Notice I said MOST everyone. Not me though. I go into the Record Shop, the Music Store, and the second-hand book store. I love all of these places. They are my home away from home.

We talk about his old life back in New York, why he moved here, and the ins and outs of my high school. We instantly clicked. We like all the same kind of music, both have a love for vinyls, and we both love reading classic romance novels. Hell, we even have the same favorite book. Little Women. We each spent a good amount of money on all the things we love, and started our short walk back home.

"What street do you live on?" I asked.

"801 Maple Valley Road"

"No way. I live on 809 Maple Valley Road." I said.

"Dude, no way, that is so crazy!" said Ferris.

" Want to see if you can come to my house for dinner?" I asked.

"Yes please! I am always down for hanging out with my friends, even if I only met them a few hours ago."

My mom said yes, so he came over, and we had the best time. I do think that my parents were a little surprised that a friend was coming over, let alone a boy.

He is so funny. We talked and talked and talked until his mom called him and said that he needed to come home. He invited me over to come meet his parents, and obviously, I said yes. His moms are so kind and sweet, and even though they had just moved in, their house was so beautiful. So welcoming and warm and cozy. I loved everything about it.

The next day at school, we met up at his locker so we could look at the rest of his schedule. It turns out we had every single class together. Wow, who would have thought. The only two liberal kids, in every class together. Even civics. It was such a fun day. Because I was his only friend (he was really my only friend too) all of our teachers sat us together. We passed notes when things got boring, and for the first time ever, I had someone to sit with at lunch. We stopped by Scoops on the way home, and he made sure that I got home safe before he walked the little bit extra to his.

We texted all night long, and all morning until we got to school. Though this was only day three of knowing him, I was beginning to develop a small crush on him.
