I couldn't stop thinking about him. Wesley was consuming my thoughts. I was just with him ten minutes ago and I already couldn't stop thinking about the next time I would see him. My mind was running a mile a minute as I brushed my teeth, washed my face and got ready for bed. However, as soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light. Today was exhausting.
I woke up the next morning, my head spinning. I didn't know if it was because I was hungover, or because of yesterday's events. Probably a little bit of both. I sat up in bed, hanging my legs off the edge, replaying last night in my head. I rolled my ankles and stretched out all my limbs, groaning a little when I realized how painfully sore I was. I finally stood up and opened up the window in my room, letting the salt air in. It was only 9:30, and I didn't have to be at the arena until 5 for the result shows tonight. I wasn't performing, but I wanted to support the other acts. I had made friends with most of them by now.
I rummaged through my bathing suit drawer, trying to find a matching top and bottom. I decided I was going to soak up some rays before the show.. nothing like a little vitamin D to soothe a throbbing headache, right? After changing, I braided my long, blonde hair, grabbed a beach chair and my phone, and headed out to the beach.
I found my usual spot, away from the other beach goers. I closed my eyes, reclining in my chair, letting my pale skin absorb the sun's warm rays. I soon dozed off, and was woken up when my eyelids grew dark. It was as if a cloud had covered the sun.. a really big cloud. I felt water dripping on my bare stomach. Was it raining? I opened my eyes.. the giant cloud blocking the sun wasn't actually a cloud; it was Wesley. He was standing there over me, surfboard in arm, his wet hair dripping on me. He was smiling, sort of laughing at how confused it was. "I figured you'd be out here this mornin," he said, crouching down so that we were eye level. "You know me too well," I said with a smile. "Are you nervous for tonight?" "Nervous is an understatement.. You're gonna be there, right?" he asked, cocking his head to the side. "Of course," I assured him. A look of relief swept over his face. "Good," he said. He ran his finger through his hair, and once again I caught myself staring at his amazing body. His muscles were glistening.. I mean really, who was he, fucking Edward Cullen?
"Let me take you on a date," Wes demanded, completely serious. "You want.. to take me on a date?" I stammered. "I meant what I said last night. I want to get to know you better," he said. "Well, if you insist," I said sarcastically, like I was even considering declining his offer.. yeah right. "Tomorrow," he said. I agreed, and then realized I didn't even have the kids phone number. I'm assuming he realized this too, as he motioned toward my phone. I gave it to him, and he punched in his number before saying that he better see me at the show tonight. "I'll be there, promise," I said. He got up and walked down the beach, where I saw Drew and Keaton sitting in the sand. I noticed them looking in my direction, so I waved. They waved back, just as Wesley turned around to flash me one last smile. Yet again, this boy left me wanting more. Always.
