Misaki held onto his hand tighter. He was clearly in shock. The two didn't say a word between one another. She couldn't tell what Chuuya was feeling at that moment.
She loosened her grip on the boys hand, only for his to tighten around hers. Misaki looked up at the boy, she could clearly see the anger in his eyes. "You were only seven." He muttered, fending his teeth in anger. "You didn't deserve all that."
Misaki could feel his hand staring to shake from how angry he was. He didn't experience what she did, how was it that he was able to react on this way?
She let go of his hand and hugged onto his arm. He stopped shaking, and looked down at the girl. "It doesn't matter anymore. It was a long time ago."
"That bastard is the whole reason you're here." Chuuya shouted. "You watched your family get murdered right in front of you, and you completely gave up. How can you go through something like that?" He muttered.
"I try not to think about it. But every time when my birthday comes around, I can't help but to close myself off from everyone else. I always just hide in here, and hope nobody comes in to bother me." She said.
It started to come to Chuuya that she had spent the last eight years ignoring it all to get away from the pain. To prevent the pain getting to her, from the trauma she had experienced.
"But for some reason, while I was in here, all I could think about was you." Misaki said. Chuuya looked down at the girl feeling confused. "I usually push people away. I pushed Odasaku away, and as well as Dazai. But I really wanted you to come here. And it happened." She muttered.
Chuuya felt his heart flutter. If she continued to talk, it would still worse for him. But her hand suddenly let go of his.
"I'm sorry for keeping you hostage for so long. You could leave now if you want. I'm going to stay here for a lot longer anyways." Misaki mumbled.
She expected him to do as told. She didn't expect for the boy to suddenly pull her closer to him. His arms wrapped around her, her head laid on his chest. She could hear his heartbeat. It calmed her down. She liked it.
"You deserve to be happy. You didn't deserve all of that to be taken away from you. To spend the past eight years working for the Port Mafia. The people that took all of that away from you."
"It doesn't matter anymore." She mumbled. "The bastard that took everything away is now dead. That's all I need to feel just a bit relieved." Misaki said.
Chuuya held her hand once more, and squeezed it tight. She had gone through so much and didn't even care anymore. She had no reason to wanting to live anymore, but suicide was the last thing on her mind.
It was there that Chuuya started to realize how much this girl meant to him. He wanted to stay like this forever, close to one another. He wanted her to be happy, wanting to see that side of her, even if it would o my last for such a short time. He wanted to find a reason for her to be happy. Wanting to see her happy was all he needed. It was all he needed to satisfy himself. Nothing more.
The girl sitting right next to him didn't even realize she had this boys wrapped around her finger. Only he realized, and he didn't seem to care. He was hopelessly devoted to her.
The beauty sitting right next to him, the girl he had fallen in love with at first sight, the girl he wouldn't hesitate to jump off a ledge for, need to be loved by someone. It didn't matter if it weren't him, he just knew she needed some love in her life.
But he haven't realized that the feeling was mutual. It was just that Misaki was to scared to come to terms with her feelings. Still scared that she would lose that joy once again. She didn't want that again.
But being around Chuuya was helping. She was slowly coming to terms with how she felt about Chuuya. How she wanted to be with him. How she wanted to be happy with him. But the fear still took over at times. It can back only to remind her of what she had lost before. But the more Chuuya was around, the more that fear began to slowly disappear, and come back less and less.
Chuuya lifted his hand to her chin, turning her head towards him, then leaning his forehead against hers. He closed his eyes and sighed. Misaki looked at Chuuya. She never expected to fall in love. But Chuuya was something else. He was changing her for the better, and she was glad for that.
Chuuya opened his eyes, looking back at hers. The two stayed that way for a bit, looking into each other's eyes. They didn't realize that the longer they looked the more they fell in love with one another. Chuuya looked down at her lips, then back up at her eyes.
"Don't lose hope." He said. "We'll find that spark of joy somewhere. It's right around the corner for all we know."
We.
We.
Hearing that made her heart go completely crazy.
Misaki closed her eyes, then leaned her head against his shoulder. She suddenly felt exhausted. "Thank you." She muttered.
The boy suddenly felt her breathing get lighter and the quietest snores. It made him smile. Seeing her like this calmed him down. He reached his hand out and brushed his thumb over her bottom lip, the across her cheek.
He leaned his head against hers and closed her eyes. He wanted to stay like that just a bit longer. Enough time that he didn't need to be there to comfort her anymore. But ten minutes turned into twenty. Twenty minutes turned into two hours. Two hours turned into spending the night with her right beside him.
They were still holding onto each other's hand. Even in her sleep, Misaki had never felt so comfortable. So safe.
So protected.
Two chapters because I felt like it. Hope you all enjoy and have a good day.
Bye :)
