Jessica gasped as they ended up on earth.  She was surrounded by lush green woods and mountains.  She grinned as her eyes caught the nearby brook and she walked over splashing in it playfully.

Loki came through after her and Kalle and smiled once he found the two splashing through the water.  Jessica spotted him and grinned widely.  "Oh Loki!  It's beautiful!  Look at the mountains!  And the trees!  Have you ever seen so many in one place?"  She said excitedly.  Loki chuckled and turned to Marja.  "Where is the cave you've been staying at?"  He asked.  Marja motioned to a nearby hill.  "Over their but she can't come with us."  She said pointing to Jessica.

Loki raised an eyebrow.  "Why not?"  He asked taking Malte from her.  Marja sighed.  "One, because I don't trust her.  Two, you like her and the last woman you liked threw Malte in your arms, said you were a horrible man, and ran off."  She said crossing her arms.  Loki sighed.  "First, you have no right to trust her and I understand that.  Second, Malte's mother took a potion to make herself more fertile she had planned leaving me with Malte from the beginning.  And Three,  theirs something different about Jessica.  She's not the type to just give up when things get hard."  He said.

Marja sighed.  "I still think this is a bad idea."  She said.  Loki chuckled and wrapped his arm around her shoulders.  "I know."

Jessica came over and grabbed Malte from Loki.  "One second,  I wan't to see Malte's face when its not streaked with dirt."  She said lightly poking his nose causing giggles to erupt.  Marja laughed.  "Good luck, Malte hates baths."  Jessica grinned.  "That's fine,  I have a few tricks up my sleeve.  They watched as Jessica went to the river with Malte who was babbling all the way.  Jessica talked to him like she would an older child and slowly sat in the river with Male on her lap.

Once Malte felt the water he started balling until Jessica handed him a rock picking up her own and trowing it into the water.  Malte watched curiously as she continued throwing pebbles before throwing his own.  Jessica held out another for him and he eagerly took it throwing it.  Jessica leaned the child against her abdomen and continued handing him rocks with one hand and wiping his face clean with the other.  Eventually Malte fell asleep to a lullaby Jessica had started to sing.  Once the boy was asleep Jessica carefully picked him up and carried him over to his shocked family.

"How did you do that?  Not even dad could do that."  Jule said.  Loki scowled and Jessica chuckled.  "I used to work in the nursery.  The maids would bring in their children and I would watch them.  Their were plenty who loved getting dirty but hated bath time."  She said chuckling lightly careful not to wake the child cradled in her arms.

Loki smiled and took his son from her arms.  "Well thank you."  He said.  Marja folded her arms.  "It's going to get dark soon we need to go."  She said.  They started walking towards the mountains Jessica chatting with Kalle the entire time.  Loki listened grinning at his child's enthusiastic explanations of earth.

"Marja?  How far away are we?"  Finja asked.  "Marja looked around. "Probably another mile or so, why?"  "I'm hungry."  Kalle spoke up.  "Oh!  Me too!  What are we doing for dinner?"  Marja sighed.  "I don't know we have to see what food we have left."  She said.  Loki placed his hand on her shoulder.  Finja sighed.  "Do we even have food?  Jule hasn't been hunting in a while and I'm going to guess some kind of animal got in while we were gone."

Marja stopped and turned.  "No I don't know okay?  Were almost their and then we can find out if we need food or not.  Besides we need to go to the small town tomorrow to get some other essentials.  Just be quiet until we get home and then we can figure this out."  Everyone was silent at her outburst.  "Marja?  Is everything okay?"  Loki asked.  Marja sighed frustrated.  "i'll tell you later."  She said walking away.

Loki looked to Jessica and she made a shooing motion.  Loki handed her Malte and ran after his daughter motioning for the other to stay with Jessica.    Jessica walked along slowly asking them questions about themselves.

"Marja!"  Loki called out.  Marja continued walking.  Loki caught up and grabbed her arm stopping her.  "Marja!  What is going on?"  he asked.  She turned to him tears in her eyes.  "I can't do this Dad.  It has been so hard without you here all the time.  I understand why you didn't tell grandfather about us but I can't keep taking care of the kids my self.  I'm only 17.  Jule is hunting for food while i take care of the kids and cook.  I walk 15 miles once a week to the town and scrape money off the ground to get blankets, food, and clothes."  She said angrily.

"I need you here.  Not off falling in love with someone who's probably going to get scared off just like the rest!"  She said.  Loki sighed.  "I'm sorry.  Your right.  i haven't been here for you like I should have been.  But i'm here now and I don't plan on leaving."  He hesitated.  "Actually kind of.  I'm going to the town so you don't have to.  And not all the women have run off you know that."

Marja crumbled to the ground.  "I miss her so much!"  She cried.  Loki sat next to her and motioned for Jessica to hang back for a minute.  Loki wrapped his daughter in his arms.  "I know I miss her too."He said  Loki had been married but she had died giving birth to Kalle.  He had then dated another woman and accidentally gotten her pregnant and she had Malte.  Since then Loki had been in a few relationships that ran off once they learned he had five children.

"She's different."  Marja whispered.  Loki looked down at her.  "What do you mean?"  he asked.  "She's different.  She didn't care that you tried to rule a planet or that you have five kids.  She still loves you.  Ha, she even stepped in immediately as a mother figure and we just met her.  We practically kidnapped her and she just decided, Ya know what?  This is fine I'll just go with it."  Loki laughed at her impression of Jessica.  Marja sat up with a groan.  "We need to get going, it's getting dark."  Loki stood and pulled Marja into a hug.

"I'm so proud of the woman you've become.  I hope you know that.  I'm sorry I wasn't here when I needed to be."  Marja hugged him back before pulling away.   "Just so you know I still don't like Jessica or trust her, but I guess it could be nice to have another set of hands helping."  She said.  Loki smiled as everyone caught up to them all taking turns telling parts of a story.

Loki looked at his family.  It would take time and effort but slowly they were healing.  He smiled at Jessica who feigned fear at Kalle's explanation of a horrific dragon.  Hopefully everyone could fully adjust to Jessica being around as well.
