Erika's POV
SINCE DESTINI AND I did not have any clients today, she decided to take Alayah to an indoor playground to get out of the house. We sat at a table watching Alayah play in the ball pit with a couple of other kids around her age.
"He showed up at my house yesterday," Destini said, and I gasped.
"Marcos?" I asked, eyebrows raised in shock.
"Yes." She nods her head. "He looked as if I was supposed to wait for him after he lied to me, got himself arrested, and after I broke it off with him."
"Is he that desperate for money he has to sell drugs for Eduardo?" I asked, sipping my Starbucks Iced Shaken Lemon Tea.
"Girl, I don't know, but I knew I needed to make a decision right then and there for my daughter," Destini says, sighing. I can tell that her seeing Marcos again, those old feelings are resurfacing. "He said that I have some stranger around my daughter."
"I don't blame you at all. I would've done the same thing you did if I were in that situation." I said, defending her. "How the fuck are you going to criticize me when you're the one who got locked up."
"Thank you. I wish somebody tell Marcos that." Destini praised, nodding her head.
"Besides, Kareem's been there for her more than he ever has," I said, nodding my head.
"Way more." My best friend agrees.
"He's been texting me since yesterday, but I've been reading them," Destini said, checking her phone.
"Good, let his ass think about what he did," I said, agreeing with her.
"So, have you guys decided on where to have the wedding?" My best friend asked, changing the subject.
