Waking up today was terrible, my head was pounding, flowing with thoughts of the upcoming ball.
Everything had to be absolutely perfect. My dress. The decorations. The accessories. The hair. The shoes. The food. The boy. Everything had to be perfect. No matter what. But I promised Calum. I promised I wouldn't let a boy rip out my heart. But that's all life. You have to go through moments you don't want to, but you get through it. No one ever tells you that. I was lucky I figured it out.I stayed in my bed for quite some time, 15 minutes at the most, and finally had the strength to get up. I walk to my closet, and pick out a simple day dress. Blue and simple, yet elegant. Grabbing some black flats, I rush to my bathroom, and apply a small layer of makeup, just mascara, eyeliner and a light pink lipstick. My hair was a natural dark brown with slight waves, which I despised in my hair. I straightened my hair, leaving it down. Putting on my flats, I quickly walk out my door and through the halls. I pass my maid, Piper, and she greets me with a warm smile. I continue my escapade through the halls to the breakfast area. I get pancakes and syrup, and it takes all but 8 minutes for me to finish.
"Today's the day. All the planning for the ball must be finished today," Calum walks in, and gives me a hug and a kiss on the forehead.
"Yep, I have to get my gown." I say.
"Would you like for me to come with you, to help you pick a dress out?" he asks. I know what he's doing. He's gonna try to get me a dress that guys won't drool over me in. I have to admit, I'm fairly attractive. I've always been told I can pull off any look.
"Uh, no, but thank you for your offer. I got it," I say. "I won't pick anything slutty out. I swear." I giggle. He looks at me, and he scowls.
"You better not. My sister is not going to fuck a guy she doesn't even know, and then leave me. Especially when you're all I have left." He lectured. He's right. We're all we have left. Our parents were killed a few months ago, being shot by a crazy citizen.
"I don't want you fucking some random girl either, Cal," I add. "Not after what happened last time." Last time, Calum had a girl and I walked in on her trying to be all seductive and stuff. But my brother, well, he was enjoying it. I had forbidden her to come back to the castle, no where near Calum.
"God. Please don't bring that up. I was embarrassed to talk to girls for 3 weeks, including you. I'm not doing it again." he said ashamed. I nodded and stood up, walking towards the doors.
"I'm going to get a gown, now. Bye." I said, and he replied with a bye. I left the castle, car keys in hand, and left.
This dress had to be gorgeous. I don't care how mad Cal got if it revealed the slightest bit of skin, because all that mattered to me is if it looked stunning.
Pulling up to the town's dress shop, I park and walk in. I head immediately to the gown section of the store, and I start grabbing the prettiest dresses I could find. I tried them all on, they all looked amazing, but only one had me mesmerized. I looked flawless in this particular dress. Absolutely stunning.
