Three days passed by slowly and Bahja still remained in her room crying over Avery. She hated him and loved him and wanted him and then didn't want him. She wasn't sure about her feelings right now because she was a mess. If there was one mistake Bahja made, that was falling in love with the devil.
But if you asked her to abort the baby she would never do it. She wanted to keep it because that was the hint that there was something between Avery and her once upon a time. And she was never going to fall in love with anyone like she has with Avery.
There was a soft knock on her bedroom door and immediately she wiped her tears. She was shocked that Chresanto was finally going to look up on her. All these days he ignored her existence in the house and she knew it was because he was pissed about her liking towards Avery. She quickly got off her bed and straightened her dress out before walking to the door and opening it. To her surprise it wasn't Chresanto. Instead, it was Manny. Manny smiled at Bahja and she returned it with a forced one.
"I haven't seen you out of your room for a while. What's up?" he asked her.
Bahja looked down and rubbed her arm. She didn't want to tell Manny what's been going on with her but he's probably the only one she's got right now to pour her feelings out. "I haven't been feeling well," she whispered.
Bahja stared at her with his hands stuffed in his short's pockets. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asked. Bahja and him may have got off on the wrong terms but he did sincerely care about her. She was also his best friend's sister. Bahja nodded and quickly walked back into her room before grabbing her bag.
Manny patiently waited outside and looked around with his eyes for Chresanto. When he spotted his best friend passing by with a coffee mug in his hands he immediately called out for him. "Chres!" Manny waved Chresanto over when he looked at him. Chresanto approached him and raised an eyebrow. "I'm going to be out with your sister. You're cool with that, right?" He asked.
Chresanto gave Manny a blank stare. After a few seconds, he placed the coffee mug down by the office table before grabbing Manny's arm and pulling him to the side. "Do you want to do me a favour?" Chresanto asked. Manny shrugged and listened on. "I need you to wipe away any feelings Bahja has towards Avery. You told me you still like her, so why don't you try to date her?"
Manny's jaw almost dropped. He gave a look of disbelief. "Are you serious man? You damn sure as hell didn't like the idea of us dating back then, why now?" He asked.
Chresanto sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. "I rather have her love you than Avery. Now go do something," Chresanto urged him, as he pushed his friend back in front of Bahja's room, just in time Bahja was coming out.
Bahja smiled at Manny and closed her bedroom door. "Ready?" She asked. Manny nodded and followed Bahja behind. He turned back to look at his best friend and received a thumbs up from him.
Avery was walking around the mall when he spotted Zoey, Zonnique and Khalil by the food court. Other times he wouldn't care what his gang members were doing but right now they weren't even in a gang. They were just people. His... Friends, he'd like to call them. He slowly walked up to them and pulled a chair out before taking a seat. They looked at him and Zonnique seemed the most happiest when she saw him.
"Oh my gosh, Avery! How are you? We haven't seen you in like forever!" She scream.
Avery pressed his lips into a thin line and looked past her shoulder. He slowly nodded as he felt Zoey's large hand come down on his shoulder. "Man, we know everything is done but that doesn't mean you can leave your friends hanging. We still love you," Zoey told him.
Avery scoffed. "If you guys cared you wouldn't have left me," he said rudely.
Khalil sighed and brought his hands down his face. "I did it for the safety of my sister, Avery. I know you would've done the same." He explained. Avery shrugged and looked away.
"Avery, you never told us what happened between you and Bahja the night you had to return her. Reginae told us you guys kissed. Soooo yall datin right," Nique said softly. She didn't want to piss him off by saying anything stupid.
Avery looked at Bahja, "She asked me not to let her go, and that she loves me," he said flatly. Khalil gasped, grabbing Avery's attention. "What?" Avery asked him.
"Fuck nigga, she really loves you," Khalil whispered to himself. He looked up and held Avery'a gaze. He had to explain further. "The day you guys brought Bee in, you went to some shooting. When I stayed back with her I explained to her the history between you and Chresanto. On that day she showed so much sympathy for you, I was shocked. She told me one thing and we betted on it." Khalil looked around and noticed how he had Zoey and Nique's eyes fixed on him as well. "She said she could make you fall in love with her and if she was able to do that I had to help her get out. But it's crazy because you're telling me she refused to go. That means she REALLY loves you man," Khalil said.
Avery stared at Khalil. He felt his heart pounding in his chest louder and faster than ever. Fuck, he loved her. There was no doubt anymore. Bahja was his and he wasn't going to let anyone take that away from him. If he had to fight with Chresanto to make Bahja and him official, he was ready to do just that. All he had to do now was get that boxing club running and he'll be fine.
Zoey sighed and looked at Avery. "I heard you're renovating the building and turning it into a boxing club. That's pretty cool man," he said.
Avery nodded. "Yeah, I'll give you a job there. Don't worry," he said.
Zoey chuckled and thanked him, before his face lit up with realization. "Are you doing this for Bahja? You know, getting a proper job so you could be happy with her and the baby? Um, if you guys are still having the baby..." He trailed off.
Avery narrowed his eyes and stared at Zoey. "Why wouldn't we be having the baby?" He asked.
Zoey shrugged and seemed like he was stumbling to find an answer. Nique jumped in to help him. "Maybe because you still haven't made Bahja your girlfriend or wife and she could possibly wonder why have the baby?" Nique said.
Avery looked down as he began to think. Was it true? Bahja and him did have a huge fight a few days ago. He didn't want her to make the wrong choices. He was definitely not planning to have kids but with Bahja it was different.
Nique's eyes averted from Avery and past him. Her face lit up and she quickly pointed in the direction. "Aye, it's Bahja!" She said loudly. Everyone turned in their seats as they watched Bahja along with another man, walking to the food court.
