Mothers Day Headcanons (TW)

A/N: Happy Mother's Day you guys- if you have a good relationship with your mom, go celebrate this day and I hope you have a great time :) if you don't have a good relationship with your mom- I'm sorry. I know this day probably brings you a lot of pain and painful memories or just pisses you off, or somewhere in between. I know both of those things are happening to me right now. I hope this day gets easier for you, and I hope you know your feelings about your parents are valid and complex, something that other unrelated people can't understand, so don't let anyone tell you to "be nicer" to them, or "stop arguing" with them, or even to "appreciate them". And if you're one of the people who says the above, please stop. You never know what goes on in someone's household and how good parents are at hiding their true selves from others. Anyways, I love you guys, and I'm sending extra love to those with mommy issues today lmao- welcome to the club

• Gon slipped up one time and called aunt mito mom, to her face. He proceeded to ask if he could call her this from now on and she said yes and literally started crying (the only healthy family relationship in the show I stg)

• Kikyo would 100% be a gaslighting and manipulative bitch. Killua would yell at her he isn't coming back because they abused him and are horrible people and she would deny it all. And ask if he's crazy, what does he think that, he's wrong, they love him, they treat him well, shit like that (and I feel like Gon would keep reminding him that she's wrong and shit. Even though he's knows, when parents do this to you, it gets to you relentless)

• The first thing Kurapika did when he came back to camp is scream for his mom (and dad)

• Aunt Mito literally can't imagine why parents abuse their kids and shit and she finds it's SO disgusting. She tries to be the mother figure Killua never got, and would do the same for others too

• Gon goes ALL out for Mother's Day. He gets Mito flowers, a card, candy, a present, plans activities for the day, balloons, etc.

• Gon calls Mito all the time when he needs advice or just wants to say hi, and Mito loves it and gets so happy whenever he calls

• We don't know where/how Zushi's parents are, but I think they're super supportive and really encouraging. It's why they let him go to heavens arena with Wing. They watch all his matches from their house, and cheer him on

• I feel like Kikyo apologizing to Killua and trying to manipulate/gaslight him wouldn't work. But it would on Alluka. If Kikyo apologizes and tries to manipulate her into coming home, I doubt she would see through her and would go home with her

• Kurapika's mom used to stroke his hair when he sat in her lap and they were reading or doing something. So now anytime anyone strokes his hair, he gets super emotional and sometimes even cries

• Killua hates his mom, a lot. And rightfully so. But he always wonders why she was like that (Histrionic personality disorder I'm almost positive), and what would have happened if she was a good mom. And he's envious of Mito and Gon's relationship (not in like an unhealthy, I'm gonna ruin their relationship way, but in a- damn I wish I had that way. But then mito treats him like a son so it's all good)

• Kurapika, Leorio, and Killua are all dying of curiosity about who Gon's birth mom is (and same)
