It was a week later and Wednesday. The day you were going to eat lunch with your doctor.
You were driving there, to the small cafe you agreed to meet at.
Your car window was rolled down, your hand dangling out. It was a crisp and cold evening.
Since this morning you watched the fog bankroll in, now not going away for a while.
It smelled like warm bread and stale coffee in the air.
You backed into the only free parking space in the back of the cafe.
You threw your purse over your shoulder and walked into the coffee shop.
You saw a light brown hair girl waving at you. You walked over, not knowing what she looked like but trusted it.
"Hey, it's nice to see you Y/N!" She said as you pulled out the chair across from her and sat in it.
"Hey, nice to see you too. For the first time," you added. "How's your vision doing?"
"It's great! It came back when me and Roger were-" You stopped before you said anything more.
"Having sex in the back of a van?" She finished.
Fuck, Freddie told you she was out there.
"Yeah, um sorry about that. I-we were just-"
"It's fine you don't need to explain." She said.
You exhaled, happy she was being so-professional?
"Thanks," you say.
You start chatting to her about your school, her favorite things.
The door chimes just like it has for every customer that came in the past hour you were in the cafe.
"I know it's so weird I couldn't have imaged he would've" you were starting to say about a movie you both shared a love for.
"Hey, that girl is waving at you?" Angelina interrupted.
That was her name, Angelina Kinsey. She was a really cool person. You both had a lot of similar interests like movies, music, shows, men.
"Hey Y/N. It's me, Marnie." You turned around in your seat and looked up at her.
She was wearing a muted green halter top that cut off right after where a bra would end, showing off the matching green jewel belly button ring she had. It was matching Leah's.
She had baggy ripped, very ripped, jeans on.
"Oh hey yeah, hi." You said still bitter at her.
You had no idea if she was cheating on Leah but the fact she put Leah through those sad emotions you did not like her.
Behind her was a girl. Not Leah.
"Oh, that's my gi-friend, my friend Sasha." She saw your gaze.
If that wasn't a clue, you didn't know what was.
"Right well what are you two doing here?" You asked like this wasn't the only coffee shop in town. "Uhm pretty much the two of you are doing."
"Right," you said. "Ok uh we're gonna get a table nice to see you," she said rubbing her arm. "Bye," you said. You turned back around.
"Who was that?" Angelina asked. "She's my friend's "girlfriend." They are dating but I think she is cheating on my friend Leah."
"Is your friend a girl?" Angelina asked. "Oh yeah? Why?" You asked. "So they are like...?" she asked. "Gay?" You finished. Oh was she gonna be a fucking moron who hated gay people. A homophobe. She nodded and flashed a fake smile.
You brushed it off and continued talking.
After another hour she had to go on a shift.
"Here let me pay. An apology for the other day at the doctor's" Angelina said. "No it's fine, don't be sorry,"
"Well, it was very unprofessional of me." She said.
"Well thank you. I do appreciate that" You said.
"Oh yeah I probably really need to be going," she said as she looked at the clock on the wall behind her.
"Here go, I'll clean up the table."
"Ok thank you so much, I owe ya," she said running out.
The cafe had a policy you had to put your dishes in the bins and wipe off your own table.
While walking towards the dish bin, you noticed Marnie and Sasha had left.
You slung your bag around your shoulder and walked out, leaving a two-pound tip on the table.
The waitress yelled at thank you as you walked out.
The door chimed as it does when you opened it and walked out.
"Y/N, hey!" You heard your name being called.
You looked up and saw that dick face of a doctor.
"Oh, Dr. Powell hey." You said coldly.
"Hey, how are you? No psycho boyfriend around?" He laughed.
You stared at him. "I'm fine now, no thanks to you. Got my vision back, also no thanks to you. And Roger isn't psycho and isn't my boyfriend he's my fiance."
"Right sorry. Well, you didn't have to overreact as you did. And congrats." He said.
"Uh well, I'm going to go." You said walking away.
"Wait Y/N?" He said. Oh if he was gonna try and fucking apologize, you were gonna punch him.
He leaned into your face, lips puckered. On yours, a disgusting horrid feeling. You instantly pulled away from him. "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?"
"Oh come on you liked it." He said leaning again. "No, I didn't!" You pushed him away.
"You fucking creep." You turned away.
His footsteps came up behind you. He walked with you.
"Get away from me right now or I'm calling the police." you stay facing away from him.
His hand came behind you and he grabbed your ass.
Your hand came in front of him and punched him right on his nose.
It hurt, hurt of sweet justice.
"What the hell man!" He cried as his nose started bleeding.
"Fuck off," you said walking away.
You started crying, sobbing. Tears dumping out of your eyes. Dripping off your cheeks.
You turned the corner and saw Marnie.
She was preoccupied. She was currently making out full-blown making out with someone.
The leg of the mystery person was over her's. Marnie's hands holding the other person's face.
At first, you thought it was Sasha. "MARNIE WHAT THE HELL?" You yelled not noticing the other person.
She looked towards you. Leah peered out from over her shoulder.
"Oh, Leah." You said. "Y/N," Leah said. She smiled.
"Fuck I'm sorry," you said, the adrenaline overpowering what happened seconds ago with that giant piss flap.
"It's fine," Marnie said.
You walked away, not wanting to deal with that situation, even as Leah and Marnie were both yelling your name as you continued walking to your car.
