Nick

are you almost to baggage claim?

almost

----

I bounced happily in the airport seat keeping my phone safely in my hand. I haven't seen him in person in a little more than a full year, I missed my boyfriend.

I slid my mask further up on my nose when it started slipping down and looked around for Nick. I didn't see him for a little while so I looked back down at my phone, keeping our text messages open in case he texted me something. I ran a hand through my hair and looked down at my cuffed jeans and white shoes.

My phone buzzed and I looked at it.

I frowned and clicked on the picture. It was a picture of me. I shot my head up and looked around. He was near a different row of chairs. I sprung out of my seat, phone still in hand and ran to him. He opened his arms wide as I got closer and took a couple steps toward me. I jumped into his arms, throwing my arms around his neck and legs around his waist. We hugged for a long time, at least five minutes. He softly rocked us back and forth and traced little patterns onto my back. I hid my face in his shoulder, taking in deep breathes of his hoodie.

I finally pulled back and looked into his chocolate eyes. "Hi!" I said breathily, giggling and putting my forehead against his.

He looked around and when he saw there weren't that many people near us he pulled down both our masks a little, putting one hand on my cheek and leaning in to kiss me. The kiss was long, just like the hug. I only pulled back shortly to get some air before going right back in. It felt so good to kiss him again, be near him again, even seeing him not on a screen.

"Hey! Put your masks back on!" A Karen across the airport yelled at us. A deep red was sprinkled along my cheeks as I slid onto the ground and pulled my mask back up.

I saw my phone on the ground, I must've dropped it accidentally. I bent down to grab it and felt a warm hand on my lower back and hip. I stood back up and leaned back against Nick's hard chest. "Hi!" He said, looking down at me. The corners of his eyes were crinkled, indicating he was smiling. "I missed you a lot."

"I missed you too." He giggled and winked, massaging his hands through my hair.

We walked hand and hand out the door to the parking garage. He was wheeling his suitcase in the other hand and I was carrying his backpack along with a small panda stuffed animal he got me.

When we both were in the car with our masks off I could see his huge smile. I leaned to the side and rested my head on his shoulder, facing my head upward and kissing his jaw. I basically glowed when his hand traveled to the back of my neck and tilted my head to the side, he leaned down and crashed our lips together, the sensation sending sparks through my whole body like the first time we'd ever kissed.

"I love you." He mumbled against my lips, scratching the back of my hair.

"I love you too." I replied, smiling and pulling back so I would drive us to my house. It took about an hour to get to my house and by the time we got there it was already ten thirty.

Nick looked really tired as he was walking in the door. I lead him to my room and watched him as he changed into sweatpants, taking off his jacket and shirt. I put on short shorts and a different hoodie before making him get in bed. "You're tired, I can tell." I said when he tried to say he wasn't.

I tried to make him lie down in bed but miserably failed because of the height difference and because he was probably way stronger than me. He smiled at my struggle and ruffled my hair. I couldn't help but smile and flopped into the bed, facing away from him and pulling the covers up over my shoulder and releasing a content sigh.

He groaned and a few seconds later I felt the spot behind me get warmer and the mattress sink a little. An arm was snaked around my waist and he scooted closer to me, intertwining our legs together and kissing my shoulder. "You know my weakness." He said with a giggle as I turned around to face him.

"Yep." I smiled and nuzzled my face into his bare chest, wrapping my arms around him.

A kiss was placed gently on my temple. "Good night, love." He said quietly after a moment.

"Good night." I fell asleep with a smile still present on my lips, my body softly moving up and down every time Nick breathed.

I slept the best I'd slept in almost a year.
