As Elena stood over the little boy, she could help but think whether or not he had a family, someone who loved him.
If he did, she had taken him away from them just like Klaus had taken away everything from her. He had taken Jenna, her freedom, and even her unborn baby.
She knew that deep down it was all her fault, not Klaus's. She was the one to run from Klaus despite the warnings from Katherine, she was the one to lead Jenna into danger, and she was the one to kill her child, not Klaus.
She did all of those horrible things single-handedly and still tried to blame Klaus, but she wouldn't be wrong if she said that Klaus was the root of her problems.
She laughed bitterly at the time where she used to believe that she was in love with that monster.
Now that she was a vampire she could recall every single moment, specifically the memories he had compelled away.
Flashback
Klaus watched Elena as she slept peacefully in her new room he had gifted her the night before.
The walls had been painted gray, the furniture was all white, and an antique chandelier hung from the ceiling.
Elena was more like Tatia than Katherine ever was, but in many ways, Tatia and Elena were different. For one, Tatia wouldn't have lasted as long as Elena has.
Tatia would have run and gotten killed in the process as she had done years ago.
Elena slowly opened her eyes. He quickly noticed her red eyes, no doubt caused by crying over her family that she had thought were dead... then he felt it.
The guilt.
Just what was this doppelgänger doing to him?
"Klaus?"
Klaus chuckled quietly, knowing what she had wanted from him. What he had conditioned her to want from him.
"Good morning, love."
Elena gave a small smile at the sound of his voice, it always seemed to ignite something in her.
"Please?" Elena asked, starting to sit up on the bed.
"Please what?" Klaus responded.
Just as he knew what she wanted, she had known what he had wanted.
"Can I have..." Elena's words died in her mouth.
Something was trying desperately to stop her from saying those words.
The smell of Klaus's blood immediately caught Elena's attention. Her eyes went straight to the wound, quickly forgetting about the unknown force stopping her.
"Your blood." Elena breathed.
She felt her mouth begin to water, desperate to get his blood.
Klaus smirked before offering Elena his arm. Elena grabbed his arm and quickly attached her mouth to the wound that had already begun to heal.
As Elena drank his blood, she felt her resistance towards him shrink even more and she enjoyed every moment of it.
Elena licked the remainder of the blood off of Klaus's arm before she lifted her head to look at him. His eyes quickly caught hers, and she simply couldn't look away.
It was as if she was in some kind of trance.
Klaus's arm reached out to her, slowly caressing her face. Elena's lips parted in response, as her breathing began to get heavier.
Klaus pulled Elena up off the bed and brought her closer to him. His lips found her's in a matter of seconds. The kiss was long, passionate, and unlike any kiss he ever had.
It had been different... special in a way.
Klaus took his shirt off before gently placing Elena on the bed.
***Smut warning***
He crawled onto the bed and took Elena's shirt off. Klaus kissed up her stomach, stopping at her bra, when he looked up at her she kissed him. Without breaking the kiss she undid her bra and threw it off the bed.
Klaus played with her breasts and sucked on her nipples, making Elena moan. She didn't care about the fact that there were vampires right downstairs that could hear everything going on, not yet.
Klaus's finger slid down her stomach, stopping at her pants. In seconds her pants were ripped off of her body and discarded on the floor along with the rest of her clothes.
She shifted uncomfortably when she caught him staring at her panties, she didn't like him knowing how wet he had made her.
"Already so wet for me." Klaus chuckled.
She was completely wrapped up in her thoughts that she didn't even notice Klaus taking her panties off until she felt his cock at her entrance.
At the shake of Elena's head, Klaus pushed it in.
***Smut ends here***
They collapsed onto the bed fully exhausted after everything they had just done. She had never felt anything like that in her entire life, to say that Klaus was good at sex would be an understatement.
"I love you." Klaus confessed while Elena was still trying to catch her breath.
It seemed like time had stopped as soon as those words left his mouth.
This was the moment he knew he had done something he swore he wouldn't do again... he had allowed Elena into his heart.
"What?" Elena asked.
Klaus sat up and looked at her.
"I love you." He repeated, before kissing her.
Elena quickly pulled away from the kiss.
"Klaus, I don't..." Elena paused, unable to say what she wanted to say.
She loved him, or at least she thought she did. She couldn't help but doubt her love for him, it didn't feel like it was real love.
Her love for him felt artificial in a way.
Klaus seemed hurt by her words, his eyes darkened drastically.
Even though he was right in front of her it felt as if he was thousands of miles away.
He pulled out of her embrace and stood up.
She couldn't let him leave the room, not like this.
"Klaus-"
"Shut up." Klaus growled at her.
"No one could ever love a monster like you." Elena growled.
Klaus paused before turning his head towards Elena. She looked just as shocked as him.
He thought that he had gotten her to break, and yet there was still a part of her that refused to give in.
Elena hadn't even realized he was in front of her until he grabbed her. It was rough and painful, he had never treated her like that before... Or at least that's what she had believed.
His grip on her tightened, forcing her to look into his eyes.
"You will not remember anything about the last three days, you will forget this room, you will forget that we slept together, and you will forget that I ever said I loved you. You will believe that you love me, and your feelings for me won't go away no matter what I do to you." Klaus compelled.
Later, he would convince himself that he hadn't felt anything for Elena.
(Flashback is over)
Suddenly the numbness was gone, her emotions attacked her mind. It was too much for her to handle. Everything bad that ever happened to her was playing in her mind.
It was as if the events were mocking her.
So she did what any other vampire would do in that situation...
She turned it off.
Authors note:
Hey everyone! I hope this clears everything up about Elena's pregnancy! Honestly, I just needed a reason for Elena to turn her humanity off and since she had lost everything else, why not add something else for her to lose? The kid was a reminder of the child that she had lost, and that was the last straw. What did you think about this chapter?
