Waking up to your phone vibrating uncontrollably isn't the best way to start out your day. I suppose it isn't the worst, either. I mean, I could've woken up only to realise I was in the middle of a hurricane, or better yet, the apocalypse! Checking the caller ID, I notice I have a few missed calls and a message from my Mother. "Come home right now. We all need to talk." We need to talk. The only phrase known to mankind that has the ability to bring back every memory you have that could be portrayed as the most unholy crime on the face of this planet.

In a rush, I gather my things and make my way to my car. I'm so panicked I can barely fathom what's going on around me. The birds chirping, dogs barking, and rustling leaves moving swiftly with the wind; everything's a blur. The only thing I'm managing to pick up is the sound of the car starting up and someone yelling out a jumble of words I'm unable to put together. It's so early, the sun has yet to rise.

As I'm driving along the dark, empty roads of Melbourne, I can't help but slowly drift in and out of consciousness. Pull yourself together! Only a few more kilometres and you'll be home. Widening my eyes, I notice a bright white light followed by the sound of a truck's horn. The last thing I remember is the impact of the trucks front end slamming into the side of my car. And then all at once, the darkness swept me away into a place of nothing.

Hey guys! I'm so sorry it's taken so long to update, I just haven't had any ideas on how to transition into the major events that I've planned. And also, apologies for the length on the chapter also /: I'm hoping to make the next chapter a lot longer x
