Brown eyes fluttered open at last and Dora felt her hand being held in a soft grip so she glanced sideways to see Tim sitting beside her, his head resting back against the bedframe and eyes looking up at the ceiling.
A single dim light shone in the room indicating that it was either evening or night had fallen which meant Dora had spent hours unconscious. She noticed that she was no longer in her mother's room either, instead it was her own room and probably Tim had carried her up there.
She tried to sit up and Tim quickly turned towards her, his concerned blue eyes locking with her brown irises.
"Dora," a breath of relief escaped him as he gently supported her up to a sitting position, her hands resting on his shoulders.
"How... How long had I been... Unconscious?" Her voice was shallow as she asked, taking in deep gulps of air because it seemed as if she had just resurfaced after almost drowning.
Due to the extremely low blood pressure, her blood circulation had reduced so it felt as if she had been deprived of oxygen for long and her breathing was still irregular.
"Four hours," he replied, filling a glass of water from the jug on the bedside table that he carefully made her drink.
"Four...?"
"Don't speak too much," he remarked, noticing that she was having trouble in speaking even, "just rest for now, okay?"
She nodded, pointing towards the glass that he filled up again for her and held her close as she drank it. Gradually, the shallow breathing came back to normal as he held her hand in his own, he knew it was still cold and it would take some time for her to fully recover.
"I've got to call your Mum."
She nodded, "take my phone and call her but don't leave me."
He did as she had said and shortly after both Luke and Camille had come up, followed by George who had just returned from his office.
"Isadora, you visit us after so long and fall sick," he remarked gently, "that is not fair."
"I'm sorry, George," she mumbled, "I got all of you worried."
Camille had brought a bowl of hot soup for her, "though if you won't eat anything and weaken yourself more, that would get us worried for sure."
Dora's face paled seeing the bowl of soup because each time she ate something, she felt as if she would be unable to digest it. Hence, she had been having very little food since the past few days, the only exceptions being when she was truly hungry and would try to fight off the nausea.
"Dora, I had called a doctor to examine you earlier and she advised that you should start eating properly," Camille sat down across from her as Tim had stood up, "and don't worry, she prescribed some meds too so that you won't feel sick when you do eat."
She still looked uncertain, "I don't want to get sick again..."
"You won't, I promise."
George had taken Luke aside to ask him in detail what had happened to Dora and he told him that she was very weak and her blood pressure had dropped which resulted in her fainting. His light brown eyes flickered in concern as he nodded, giving him his credit card and told him that they should take Dora to the best hospital and spare no expense on making sure that she was treated properly.
George had always felt grateful towards Dora for bringing Luke to normal back when she had been living with them alternately per month and so he too cared for her and wanted her to be fine.
"You're coming too?" Luke asked.
"I would have but there's a meeting I can't cancel. Besides I don't think it would be okay for too many people to go to the hospital, it already is a crowded place."
