The collaboration had been an impulsive mention when she had met BTS backstage at the grammys. Both of them were invited and happened to stumble into each other backstage while getting ready for the red carpet. Having been following each other's career secretly, they hit it off instantly. Joking throughout the carpet and then due to the seating arrangement, their fun carried on through the night.

During a commercial break, Yoongi started a conversation with Akira, and as he was the reason she had stepped into the producing world, releasing her own mixtape 2 years after her debut, she had sweaty palms throughout their talk.

She was finally talking to the person who gave her the push she needed, the one who had unknowingly been the reason for her perseverance, the person whose songs had been her home and safety during the hard times, whose lyrics were the rhyme and reason of her own meaningful melodies. Her fans knew very well the connection Akira felt with the BTS member and when talk spread of the seating arrangement, they were more than happy.

Some were disappointed but who was gonna listen to them, for Akira knew she deserved this chance after years of hardships. It had taken a lot of effort to change her train of thought from “you’ll never make it” and direct it to “just have fun and be proud of what you do”.

Yoongi was her idol, people would say, but to her, he was her comfort person. The person who stays in your heart when all worldly happiness has deserted you.
Yoongi initiated the exchange with a smile and a simple,

”I've been listening to your songs for a while now.”

The start had left Akira dumbfounded but she continued in the incomplete korean she had learned in high school. The dialogue was short yet meaningful and left a large impact on the singer.

“I've been listening to your songs for a while now…”

“Oh really- wow i didn't know that- thank you so much.”

“Haha well i've been a fan since you debuted.”

“Oh my. Same- actually...I've been an ARMY since 2013 and you guys were kind of the last push I needed to start my own career.”

“Really! Wow! It's good to know we were the start of something so meaningful.”

“Thank you! It means alot. I admire you guys alot!”

“I could say the same for you! haha... “

Yoongi had seemed shy during the whole exchange. The reason was because he too was meeting an ‘idol’. An idol for him. Ever since their debut they had tried to make it big in the US, yet the selective and picky audience in the west made it difficult.

To make it easier they had decided to study western artists and adopt techniques to help them. That's how Yoongi had stumbled on Akiras debut song. It was a heartfelt ballad with hints of pop and though Yoongi had no knowledge of english, the melody alone was enough to keep him immersed. It was the art of luring the listener in with a tinge of the strings and a pop of the drums, the way the sounds mixed to form the songs of sirens, luring people in from far and wide. After listening to it 3 times, yoongi discovered that korean subtitles were available and that was his breaking point as he dove into the meaning of the song.

The way it explored the hardships of having to live in a world where men ruled and women weren't supposed to be schooled. How the general society looked down on the latter but praised the former. How the world was slowly starting to turn its direction just because of the unjustness of the world. He couldn't even register himself as he felt a single tear slip down his face. The lyrics were generalized and vague yet struck the heart straight on.

He chose her. She had meaningful lyrics, perfect melodies, an inspiring aura and she even danced. For the first few months he studied her songs, her techniques, her production process, and watched the different videos she put out similar to the bangtan bombs they themselves sometimes did. Slowly he felt himself slipping.
