______________Fox should've listened to that gut feeling.

Good soldiers follow orders...right? (The Tano Pamphlet)

Fox really tried to ignore that gut feeling.
How could he not?
His gut 'feeling' was telling him to go down the hall that led to Command-...Tano's cell, and for all he knew it could be a force suggestion, and Tano would pounce on him to make her (second) getaway.
So yeah, he continued to walk down the hallway away from her.
Then, as he was striding, Tarkin - the sun of a Hutt himself - walked turned around the corner followed by two...men?
They certainly didn't look like clones, but it wasn't his place to ask.
Sure, his rank was higher, and if he asked where Tarkin was going with the two, he would have no choice but to answer.
But on the other hand...He was a clone and Tarkin was a natborn; all he needed to do was tell the higher-ups that he had 'made a bad impression' and it was off to the Kamino Reconditioning Chambers for him.
Tarkin didn't acknowledge Fox, and neither did he.
He had zero respect for the man, no matter what others thought.
When he heard a cell door open and then slam shut, the instincts that was (still) growing slammed against his chest, almost making him fall over.
He stood up straight, dusting his plastoid armour off, looking around quickly to make sure nobody saw, then continued on his way.
He didn't know how much he would regret it.

____________________"Idiot."
He slammed his helmet into the wall, a bit of the visor chipping off on impact.
"Stupid."
Fox rambled to himself, pulling at his curly (and greying) hair wildly.
"If you had just-Ugh!"
The feeling in his chest that night - it seemed so long ago - had been a mixture of Ahsoka's terrified, 16-year-old self reaching out for help, and his own protective instincts for his vod, whether he knew them well or not, Jetii...or not.
She had been raped.
She had been raped by a man 3 times her age, and she had fallen pregnant as a result.
He just wished he could turn back time and sprint to her cell, do something...
This was just so...infuriating, knowing that he could've stopped it.
He could've stopped all of it.
All this pain and suffering the teenager had gone through was partially his fault.
His vod (Thire, Cody, Thorn) would say it's not his fault, as would the 501st.
Hell, Ahsoka would say it's not his fault.
But it's was, just as was the death of ARC-555 - Fives.
Yeah, maybe Palpatine (thank God that aruetti was dead) threatened him, and his vod if he didn't do the deed, but it was still him that pulled the trigger.
As much as he hates to admit it, it's his fault.
It will always be his fault.
