i smile as the tears roll down my face
because hey, i like the pain
seeing the cuts there on my arm,
brings me more peace
than any happy pill i've ever taken
no, i'm not from a home that's broken
i don't have a reason to be sad,
and yet those knives on the counter,
look way too appealing
for things to be anything but bad.
