"Your son?" The words could hardly leave her mouth. "I thought you only had a daughter."
"Well I thought you'd never need to know him. He's a danger to this world. Like you." Taylor's whole world stopped in that one statement. "Like me?" She asked, and stepped closer to him. There was a thick akward silence between them.
"He's......well he was bitten by a snake."
"And? That doesn't answer my question."
"He lived."
"You mean the poison binding with him to, that I'm not the only one?"
"Exactly."
"And what's he like?"
"He can do things other people can't simple as that. He can help you. That is, if you give us a chance."

Taylor's opinion changed so much right then. But then she began to wonder if he was older than her like Chris.
"How old is he?"
Chris seemed surprised. "What?" He asked, actually wondering why she would ask that.
"How old is he?" She repeated. He stared for a second then said "16."
She couldn't move. He was her age. He could help her.
"I want to meet him." She said.

After a while of wandering through the hallways they came to a room. The sign said Ryan: Do Not Enter. But of course, Taylor ignored the sign completely and went inside. The room looked like every other. Barely furnished, clean, old furniture. It was fairly large. But the only differences were the flat screen and the boy sitting on the bed across from it. She didn't know the game he was playing.

"Ryan" Chris said.
He replied with a smirk, not even bothering to look. "Yes dad?" He said. You could hear sarcasm in his voice. He had an attitude like Taylor.
"There's someone here to meet you."
"If it's Arian tell her I don't need another appointment." He said. Taylor silently asked Chris who Arian was. He replied "my co-scientist" back to her.
"It's not her. This a girl named Taylor." That got his attention. He dropped the controller and froze. He looked astonished. When he looked at Taylor, they're gaze locked together. It stayed that way unwavering for minutes.

Taylor first noticed his eyes. They were purple with a few small black lines swirling under them. She guessed it was an effect of the poison. He was tall and thin and had a killer smile. The first thing that came to mind was he's completely gorgeous, but the thought was quickly turned away when he said "wow."
Taylor glared at him and said "what's that suppose to mean?" He wasn't fazed by her cruelty at all. "Hey relax, it's a good wow." He said. Taylor did relax a little then. But they're conversation was cut off by Chris.

"Now that you know each other, you need to know something Ryan about Taylor. She was bit by a golden lance head and lived." Ryan stepped back in surprise. She saw a look on his face that was so powerful there wasn't a way to describe it. All she knew was his eyes turned a brighter shade of purple and his smile seemed to grow even bigger.
"Well looks like I'll have to help her out. I can see the effects haven't settled yet." Then he turned to Taylor, "see ya later beautiful." He said as he calmly walked out of the room.

Chris turned to her shyly. "Well that's Ryan. Sorry he was so upfront like that."
"It's fine. But will my eyes be like his to?" She asked.
"Yes" he sighed "hope you don't mind."
"No I'd love that." Was her only reply as she left him alone in the room.

She found Ryan in the living room a couple hours later. He waved his hand for her to come over. She sat down next to him and all she could do was smile.
"Captivated by my beauty yet?" He said with that smirk he did so often. But he kept talking " you know it's nice to be able to come out of hiding. I mean I sat in my room all the time afraid if I came out they'd experiment on me." Taylor finally found her words and said "you didn't seem to thrilled to see that girl."
"Who, Arian? Yeah every time she's here she insists on trying to figure out what's wrong with me." They both started laughing, and he said "your not very talkative are you?"
"Well I am sometimes, your not very quiet are you?"
"Wow you are what I thought."
"Oh really what'd you think."
"That'd I meet someone my age and fall for them. You seem to fit the mold about right." He was smiling the whole time. She knew he wasn't being serious but she couldn't help herself from grinning stupidly and laughing with him when he did.

Then she became curious. "So how exactly are you going to help me?"
"Well by tomorrow you'll have purple eyes which is totally awesome. And then from there I teach you how to use your abilities as they come." Taylor was going to go into greater detail in her questioning when Chris came in.

"There you two are. Getting along well?" He said. Ryan replied with a happy stare. "Dad we're getting along fantastic aren't we?" He looked at Taylor. She didn't even know how to describe how well they were getting along. "Yes" she said. But Chris wasn't leaving.
"Taylor can I speak with you." Then he gave a glance at Ryan. "Alone."
"Of course." And she got up and once again left Ryan to sit in solitude.

He led her back to the room she started in a few days earlier. "This is yours. That is until Ryan teaches you what you need to know." Until. She wondered what he meant by that.
"I'm sorry Chris but you said until. What does that mean?"
"It means once you've learned you leave. I'm training Ryan for a solo job after you leave."
"I have nowhere to go." She looked out the window at the sunset. Chris looked like he felt bad for her. "But that's not my problem. Ryan can't afford the distractions right now." Then he left, leaving the door slightly open. Taylor spent the rest of the night awake worrying what she'd do when she was done learning from Ryan. She didn't want to leave him for some reason.
