Yeah that's because it's not out yet.

I don't know what day your seeing this but like- yeah it's not out yet.

As of July, 2021 it's not out yet. It's going to be soon! I hope- actually DONT HOLD ME UP TO THAT.

So-
Anyway- I'm starting a new zodiac story that I'm more confident in, mostly because I have lost interest in my other Zodiac Book, Running with the Rain which is sad because I do like rain, I stood in the rain today. I love rain.

Uh- ANYWAYS so basically this one is a story that I'm more proud of in its story and logic.

In a world where the Umbren have taken over and the remands of the human population have adopted Magic to keep them away.

8 years later after the first outbreak, in Mortem City, the place where the Umbren started, 12 teenagers just happen to be in the right place at the right time.

And all the while an ominous Lullaby plays in the back of their minds.

Threatening to come true.

So there is a lot to unpackkkkk- um first question incoming!

#1 - What are the 'Umbren?'

The Umbren are Shadow creatures essentially. They feed off the energy of fear quite literally, so don't let your guard down, they could be right around the corner, waiting to strike at your weakest moments.

Umbren can turn you into a lifeless, emotionless body walking around until you eventually waste away into dust.

Fun fact: Umbren is derived from the word 'Umbra', which means Shadow in Latin.

#2 - Witches? Magic?

Ok you are either born with magic, or inherit it from a family member who died, who had magic.

When you are born with magic you find your familiar around the ripe age of 12-15 years, or as one of our protagonists, 17 years old.
When you inherit your magic, your familiar appears out of thin air.
There are many different types of witches, but they all have different ways of keeping them at bay, some fight them, using pure will power to keep them away from their home, while others cast spells on themselves or their living quarters to keep them safe.

There are also many different types of familiars. So not just crow,black cat, frog, rat, ect. ect. Those are typically saved for the villains.

#3 - Familiars 101

Familiars are what give witches their magic aka-
No familiar = No magic
Familiars are also technically demons, and an outcome of the Umbren no less. Because of this, some people with religious beliefs, rejected magic because it was unnatural and demonic.

But as familiars, they also help keep them safe, as they give humans the power to protect themselves with magic. Familiars can be of all different shapes and sizes and can be the embodiment of what their witch is not or they are exactly like them.

So for example if you have a really outgoing and adventurous witch, their familiar, may be a bit more reserved and quiet.
This makes for a great dynamic for these two characters who are going to be together all the time. Here are some witch-familiar dynamics I have in the story that I am pretty proud of.

Brash, negative, rude    --  Meek, perceptive, humble

Anxious, over thinker  --     adventurous, thoughtful
