I tossed and turned in bed all night, fearing I may have never actually fallen asleep. The nightmares finally caught up to me. The gasoline fumes burned inside my nose, blood covered my exposed chest as I ran up the stairs to stop Spencer from getting shot. Every time the sound of the gun would go off I'd wake up with sweat coating my skin.

The nightmares kept me from falling asleep, but as I laid in bed at night I couldn't stop thinking about Spencer. I missed sleeping beside him, I missed him needing my help, but I knew it was just my attachment issues at hand. I wish I could say I couldn't wait to wake up, but I started feeling the sleep creep up on me.

I finally opened my eyes fully, feeling just a tad recharged from a horrible night of no sleep. Grabbing my phone off the nightstand, I peeked at the time. My alarm never went off this morning. I shot up out of bed, stumbling over to the bathroom.

" Damn it! And of course today of all days. " I grumbled to myself. " Why didn't Aaron come and wake me up?"

He probably thought I stayed late at Spencer's. Today is Valentine's day, also my first official day as the teams liaison as J.J is officially on maternity leave. It's also my turn to pick up breakfast. I wanted to surprise Spencer with breakfast from his favorite bakery. Today is going to a good day, I'm determined to make today mine. No matter how tired I felt.

I rushed to get dressed, deciding not to bother with my makeup, tossing my hair up in a bun. 8:12 flashed on my dashboard as I backed out of the parking lot. I still had another 15 minutes to get to work before I would be considered late. As I pulled up to the bakery, I noticed a small line inside, trying my best to not act impatient as I walked in.

I took a look around the bakery as I played on my phone screen. A cop was sitting at one of the tables, two teenagers at another, and a older women with a man at the third. Rushing in behind me was a heavy set man in a bigger rush than I was.

Roughly ten minutes later I finally reached the front counter , I ordered a bunch of different breakfast sandwiches from the menu. Digging through my purse for my wallet I knocked my badge out, watching it fall to the ground. Bending down to pick it up, the guy behind me reached out first.

" Thank you." I said, grabbing it back.

He held tight to it, his grip preventing me from grabbing it. I looked up at the man, seeing the sweat on his forehead run down his eyes. He looked over at the young women behind him.

" Sir, I need that." I said loudly, causing the police officer to walk over to us.

" Is everything okay here?" The officer asked.

Before I could react, the man across from me grabbed the cops gun off of his side. Shooting him in the chest, as he clocked me in the nose with his fist. I fell to the ground, my head bouncing off the floor. I groaned in pain, attempting to grab my gun off my side. I felt hands touching my waist, pulling my gun out from my holster. This man had both of the guns pointing at me. A few people were able to escape out the door unharmed before the man stood in front of the doors.

" Nobody move! " He yelled out, walking over to the cashier, he began to pull the cashier out from behind the register. Forcing her to lock the door, taking her key once she was done. I ran my hand over my face feeling blood, it wasn't mine. I looked over at the cop, watching his chest rise and fall.

He wasn't going to make it.

I tried moving over to him but the man dragged me away from cop. I tried kicking and freeing myself but the armed man was too strong.

"Give me all your phones!" He shouted.

One by one, we reluctantly handed over our phones to him. His hands trembled as he held us all at gun point. The women he came in with began starting to plead and beg him to stop.
