The next morning, Katherine woke up and she looked around the room and took a deep breath as she observed her surroundings. Rubbing the tired out of her eyes, she looked over and saw Dallas still sleeping and cuddled into her pillows and stuffed animals. Katherine smiled and got up, going downstairs and she took out two cups and a carton of orange juice and some eggs and bacon. Her parents were having earlier work shifts, which Katherine appreciated a lot because she didn't have to worry about them bothering her or them finding out about Dallas. She wasn't ashamed of Dallas but she knew that if her parents found out that she was dating someone like Dallas then they would try to interfere.

Katherine began cooking eggs and bacon for her and Dallas, grabbing two pieces of bread and putting them in the toaster. As she cooked, she felt arms wrap around her and she turned around, seeing Dallas.

Dallas groaned, "Why did you get out of bed, doll?" he asked tiredly and he placed a big kiss on her cheek before grabbing a cup of orange juice and sitting down at the dinner table.

Katherine finished making the food and she made the plates, giving Dallas a bigger serving since she still wasn't comfortable with eating a lot yet.

Katherine served him the food, "Today, Miranda and I are going shopping because I need a dress for my dad's dinner dance." She sighed as she started to eat.

Dallas raised an eyebrow, "You never told me about this little dinner thing." he said, setting his fork down.

Katherine sighed, "I didn't think you would be interested in it, it's just for my father's charity organization for veterans." She said.

Dallas huffed, "Or maybe you just didn't want me to go because you knew that it would be embarrassing to arrive with a low-class hoodlum, right?" He got up from his seat and grabbed his sweater.

Katherine got up too, "Dallas that is not true, I don't care about your wealth class." She frowned.

Dallas sighed, "So do you want me to go?" He furrowed his eyebrows.

Katherine nodded, "Yes of  course I want you to go!" She hugged him and he rolled his eyes before hugging her back.

They ate breakfast together before Dallas left and Katherine got ready and went out with Miranda. They stopped at a boutique and began looking around for dresses.

Miranda picked up a yellow dress, "How does this look?" She asked and Katherine shrugged

"Yellow will stand out too much, the tone will be more subtle colors." She said as she continued looking through dresses and she picked up a long red gown and she showed it to Miranda,"How does this dress look?" She smiled and Miranda gasped,"Oh my god it's gorgeous, go try it on!" She said and followed Katherine to the dressing room.

Sylvia walked into the boutique and look around while she had a red lollipop in her mouth. The cashier watched her suspiciously and she cleared her throat,"Excuse me miss, is there anything I can help you with?" She asked.

Sylvia rolled her eyes,"I would of had came to you if I needed help." She said in a snappy tone and the cashier frowned before going back to work.

Katherine put the dress on,"This looks so good on you, I know Dallas is gonna die when he sees you in this dress!" Miranda gushed and the mentioning of Dallas's name made Sylvia perk up. She watched as Katherine and Miranda walked out and she crossed her arms and walked over to them.

"I heard something about a Dallas Winston, care to inform me?" She asked and Katherine and Miranda looked at each other nervously,"Dallas Winston and I are seeing each other." She said awkwardly.

Sylvia plastered a fake smile,"That's great, I would be careful though..sometimes when you don't give him what he wants, he will just leave you in the dust and find someone else." She said before licking her sucker,"Have you guys had sex right?" She asked.

Katherine blushed,"I don't think that's any of your business." She said sternly.

Sylvia feigned a pout,"Yeah you're right, silly me to ask. By the way, that dress is too big. You don't feel in the chest part." She said before walking out with a smirk.

Katherine looked at herself in the mirror and frowned, smoothing down her dress,"I think I should of had went with my mom, she gets me really beautiful dresses." She said and Miranda looked in the mirror also, holding a dark blue gown,"Don't worry, you can get this dress tailored so it will have a snug fit." She reassured and Katherine smiled before bringing it to the cash register.

Katherine and Miranda walked out and Miranda sighed and checked her watch,"I'm supposed to be at home at this time, my mom is gonna take me to get my hair done." She said and Katherine frowned,"Alright, I'll just head to the library." She said and they exchanged goodbyes before Katherine had walked away and over to the library.

Katherine walked inside the library, the entrance bell making her smile since she was in one of her favorite places, the library. Katherine was a bookworm, she felt that books were a way to escape reality and they were definitely comforting.

She walked over to the novels and looked around,"Hey, didn't expect to see you here." A voice said and Katherine turned to see Ponyboy.

Katherine smiled,"Yeah, whenever I can go here and check out a book, I just finished The Bell Jar." She said and Ponyboy raised an eyebrow,"The Bell Jar? I never heard of it." He said, furrowing his eyebrows and Katherine looked at him,"It's a pretty good book, the main character bothers me but besides that it's a decent book." She said as she continued to search through books.

Ponyboy watched her as she continued to look through books,"Johnny recommended a book to me, it's called "Gone with the wind." You should read it." He said and Katherine flipped through a random book,"Yeah I should read it, you know where I can get a copy?" She asked and they started walking around,"I have a copy at home I can lend you, it's kind of ran down though, if that's okay with you." He said and she nodded,"Yeah it's okay with me." She said, smiling in reassurance and he smiled back.

Ponyboy looked at her shopping bag,"Oh what's in the bag if you don't mind me asking?" He asked and she showed him a preview of the dress,"It's for my father's charity thing, you're welcomed to come and your friends too." She said and he shrugged,"I don't do so well with fancy events and I think my brothers have to work that day." He said and Katherine pouted,"Oh cmon Ponyboy, pleaseeeee?" She begged, giving him puppy dog eyes and Ponyboy playfully rolled his eyes,"Alright, Alright I'll go." He said and she smiled and hugged him,"Thanks!" She said happily.

Ponyboy and Katherine continued to chat and they stayed in the library for most of the day recommending books to each other and getting to know each other more and more.
