Basic Terminology

-Singlet: An individual without DID or OSDD

-System/Collective: An individual who has split into more than one person due to trauma

-Polyfragmented System: A system with 100+ Alters. these systems split more frequently due to stress, instead of usually only splitting because of trauma

-System Accountability: The ideology that one alters actions are the actions of the system.
Example; If one alter keeps the body up late, the rest of the system should be held accountable for these repercussions.

-Front/Fronting: Alter who is currently in control of the body

-Co-Front/Co-Fronting: Alter (or alters) who is/are Essentially Fronting with whoever is in front at that moment,

-Co-Conscious(Co-Con): Alter(s) who isnt/arent able to control the body at that moment, But are able to see/hear what is happening in the outerworld and talk to whomever is in front, Kind of like watching a movie

-Innerworld/Headspace: Place That Alters go to whenever they are not fronting or in co-con/Where all Alters live/are kept

-Dormancy: When an alter essentially "dies", They do not front, Do their job/roles, and etc, They can come out of dormancy but they don't always do

-DNI(do not interact): Alters that the system doesn't want the host or others to interact with, Usually trauma holders and such

Alter Roles

-Core/Original Person: The person who has been there the entire time, The original person, Most systems do not like this term so not everyone uses it

-Host: The Alter who fronts the most/Most often, Normally handles day to day tasks and etc

-Long Term Host: Alter that had been the host for 2+ years

-Co-Host(s): Alters That front often but not as often as the host, Will normally be second in line for day to day tasks

-Manager: Alter who handles the memories, They keep track and archive them all and can decide who gets what memories and etc

-Co-Manager: There isn't always a co-manager, But the co-manager does pretty much the same thing as the manager, just possibly less often, and will mainly assist and help the manager with stuff

-GateKeeper: Alter who is in charge of who fronts and when, They make sure specific alters don't front, Can push Alters in and out of front (to an extent), And in general keeps track of who is fronting and etc

-Primary Gatekeeper: There is not always one, But the primary gatekeeper is the gatekeeper who gatekeeps alters the most often

-Secondary Gatekeeper: There is not always one, But the secondary gatekeeper will do the same thing as the primary one, just less often
