Jaxton checked the watch on his wrist. It was half past six in the morning.

The building still had yet to wake up.

Each and everyday, he arrived an hour before everyone else. And just as he did every morning he glanced at the picture in front of his computer monitor. There was an older man in the frame, with looks identical to his.

A smile curled over his lips as he eyed the picture.

"I miss you dad." He said aloud. "The business is fine. Mom's okay. We're all good. Don't worry about anything, I'll take care of everything."

He took a deep breath, as if inhaling his own words.

"Time to get to work."

A gentle knock on the door interrupted him.

"Come in." He called, without moving his gaze from his laptop.

Jaxton knew exactly who it was.

"Good Morning Mr. Wright." Nolan entered the room with breakfast in hand, along with coffee.

As expected his boss didn't return the goodmorning gesture.

Nolan felt extremely anxious about seeing Jaxton that  morning. He could barely sleep last night. He knew the man was angry with him.

Nolan set the food and coffee down on the table as quickly as possible. Before he could exit from the office a single word stopped him.

"Wait."

Jaxton took the container of food and opened the lid. He stared down at the eggs benedict and assessed it, as Nolan inwardly died.

"The hollandaise sauce is too thick."

Nolan gulped.

Jaxton pulled the trashcan from up under his desk, so Nolan could have a clear view of it. He took the container of food and dropped it into the trash without a care in the world.

Jaxton kicked the trashcan back under his desk, and went back to his computer. "Go and fetch me another."

Nolan seriously thought he would cry. That would be another forty minute drive, plus another forty minutes back.

Three days, he thought to himself. There were just three days before he would be able to leave for the week-ened.

He mustered up his professional smile, "Of course sir, I'll be back as soon as I can."

Jaxton looked up from his computer as his employee retreated.

That hollandaise sauce was as perfect as it was everyday and they both knew it.

Nolan, though it was no way in his job description, went out of his way to make sure it was perfect for his boss, each and every morning.

"Good morning." Nolan said to Daryl upon walking into the building nearly two hours later.

"You're late and you look like utter shit."

"Well, I had to pick up the royal highnesses breakfast for the second time this morning." Nolan trudged up to his desk. "Has he already gone into his meeting?"

"Yea..he should be out soon." Daryl sighed. "Nolan, you are not his assistant. You're the marketing manager, I don't understand why you put up with this."
