"Nah Haze, a little reminder: we got Blake in the upper grade." Nasir spoke out, only causing me to let out a giggle, knowing exactly what he meant by that.
"Oh yeah, he's going to bring out the worst." Natalie whined as we finally packed our books.
It was the upper grade's last school day tomorrow before their exams begin and as usual the head principal offers them their glorious senior prank day, one that the younger grades, including us, heavily dread for.
It's all fun and jokes, especially seeing teachers getting pranked left and right, but when it came down to affecting us, that's where it gets hectic.
"See you next week Mrs Reeves!" I chirped towards the new chemistry teacher before finally making my way out of the classroom along with the others.
Jay had been correct to assume that Mr Sherman had called Adrian out to question him about his attendance, but now even after a week, it hasn't been confirmed if Adrian is dropping out.
He still comes to school, but he still bunks lessons too.
In fact, I don't even remember the last time he actually attended the maths class that we share.
"Hazel!" Mr Reeves' voice of urgency, instantly made me halt at my steps. I turned around along with a few of my friends who were about to leave the room with me.
"Can I have a quick word with you, dear?" Her gentle voice questioned and before I could say anything, the room erupted in "ooo" as if I had been caught doing something bad.
I simply rolled my eyes at them before nodding at Mrs Reeves and making my way towards her.
She piled up a few books, waiting for the students to exit the room as I took my seat at the nearest desk to her.
When the room finally fell upon silence, she too took a seat on the desk beside me.
A warm smile soaked her lips as I watched her bring her attention towards me.
"This may come across as a strange question," she started off, causing me to furrow my brows.
I hadn't really thought much into it when she had called me to stay back, but now I was starting to become a little curious.
I offered her a light nod, letting her know that I was ready to listen.
"I noticed that your surname is Stone, could you possibly be," she stretched out the last word, almost as if she was struggling to phrase her sentence.
I waited a little longer, before suddenly realising what she could have meant.
"Grayson Stone's daughter?" I questioned and when her eyes lit up a little unexpectedly, I was becoming more interested.
"Are you?" She asked, her eyes dancing with nothing more than expectation and glints of joy.
It was almost as if she was too surprised by something to even believe it.
Watching her light expressions naturally allowed a grin to stretch across my own lips before I nodded.
"You know my dad?" I questioned, surprise evident in my tone.
Her eyebrows furrowed a little and for a mere second she sat there, speechlessly admiring me. The expression itself caused my heart to melt.
"I taught your father." She stated, her tone so delighted that I couldn't help myself from being astonished.
"Wow." My eyes were wide with shock and that was all I could say as I watched her nod with a giggle.
"They weren't as popular as you dear, but they definitely knew how to bring attention their way." She chuckled, reminiscing a past where I didn't exist.
