rather short and rushed chapter so its probably horrendous .

the storm outside still raged on . albedo had put wood into the fire , hoping it would warm up the place a little . he sat down in front of the flame , the warmth radiating onto his face . the small shadows danced around , reminding him of his and [ name ] 's ' bond ' prior to the incident .

" would you please shut your damn mouth for once ? " a certain male grumbled , teal eyes full of anger as he gazed at a certain individual . " ive heard enough of your shit . "

" i just wanted to help ... " [ name ] frowned , pointing at the small cut that had formed on the alchemist's arm .

albedo glared at them , yanking his arm away with a hiss . " i don't need it . go find something else to do . you can start by learning how to keep your nose out of my business ."

" but i - "

" i dont give a shit . "

he sighed at the thought of the memory , feeling regret for all hes said . what if [ name ] remembers everything and finds out the truth ? he would be done for , especially if klee found out .

soft and careful footsteps pulled the male out of his thoughts , hus head quickly turning to look at the being . " [ name ] . " he sighed , nose scrunching up as they sat beside him with a blanket around their body .

" i got ... cold . " they whispered with a shiver . they scooted closer to their ' friend ' - or at least thats what he said they were - causing albedo to stiffen at the actions .

no , he didn't like this . he didnt like it at all , yet it felt ... oddly nice . just when he thought things couldn't get worse , small and enthusiastic patters tapped along the floor . his heart raced , knowing just who those footsteps belonged to .

it was klee . " albedo ! albedo ! " she chirped , stopping beside the male and excitedly tapping his shoulder . " klee wants to - [ name ] ? youre awake ! "

albedos eyes widened . well shit .

" hm ? " [ name ] looked over at the child with confusion . " who ... are you ? "

klees smile immediately faltered , her body freezing from shock . they dont remember her ? surely this is a prank , right ? " huh ? [ name ] doesn't remember klee ... ? "

[ name] felt horrible for causing such a reaction to the girl . if only they remembered who the child was . " im sorry , but i dont . albedo said i had hit my head while helping clean and lost my memory . im terribly sorry , little one . "

ah , so they did fall for it , albedo took note . quite naive .

klees eyes teared up , realization of the loss - well not literally - of a friend sinking in . " does that mean .... [ name ] doesn't like klee anymore ? "

" you can always play together . " albedo sighed , poking at the fire with a long stick . " just because their memory is gone , doesn't mean the old [ name ] went with it . "

he glanced over at [ name ] , eyes softening for just a second before returning back to the usual cold gaze . he felt pity for them , silently blaming himself for the pain brought upon klee .

[ name ] sighed , pulling the blanket closer to them . they buried their face in the side of his shoulder , the warmth from the alchemist's body radiating onto them while little klee sat down on the other side of him , solemnly gazing into the fire . albedo let out a surprised gasp and froze once more . oh archons , he hated this so much .

" please don't leave me . " they mumbled , not wanting their ' friend ' to walk away .

albedo didnt know how to respond and he found himself cursing mentally at his reply . " i dont plan on it . "

[ name ] smiled into his shoulder in relief .

albedo , on the other hand , was mentally cursing himself for this . he didnt like being near them .

or so he believed .
