Two days had already passed, and Ian already had bags under his eyes. 11th grade wasn't what he was expecting, longer hours, bigger textbooks, and students thinking they're all that.
High school just wasn't his thing, he thought. He dropped his head onto the desk and groaned. It was his last period and it just had to be English. It's not that he hated it, he actually really prefers English over any other subject, but their new teacher makes you want to spit all over the language.
If there's one thing he learned in school, it's that English teachers are either the best teachers or the worst. He groaned again and slammed his fist onto the desk. "Mr Galbraith, do you have anything to say?" Said the 40 year old woman with the crooked nose. He looked up and tried not to give a disgusted look at her mole. "No, Ma'am" he said.
She stared at him for what seemed like ages and continued her lesson. 23 minutes later, the bell saved him from his misery and ended their last session. He dragged his feet and got out the class into a crowded mob of stinky teenagers. He walked over to his light grey locker, opening it to put down his literature books. He felt an arm sling around his neck and a hand ruffle his hair. "Ayyyy, how's my man doing on a Wednesday afternoon?" His friend, Mark, said. Ian didn't bother turning around to face him. "I'm dead" he replied. "I hope later on you're not as cranky as you are right now, cause we're going to a party at Lillian's place" he said, excitedly.

Ian turned around, looking at his blond enthusiastic friend. " it's only been two days and there's a party?!" He yelled. "Woah there. I don't know why but you are so coming." "But-" "b- b - but, no. You are going there and get your single ass a girlfriend, meet you there at 6" he said, leaving before Ian could protest even more. He groaned for the 117th time, slung his bag over his shoulders and out of the school he went.
Since he was staying over at Mark's place for the week, he walks instead of waiting for a ride. He took a few left and right turns, as he started to read his fathers new novel. He started to get in graved to the book, almost forgetting the he was originally supposed to go home, not where he was now.
After finishing 4 chapters, he sighed and glanced up. He looked around and spun a couple of times. "Where am I?"he mumbled. He turned around to see the road he just came from, but the roads were unfortunately split into a left and right. "Im in trouble" he whispered. He squinted at the town houses trying to remember if he had seen them. But no. He didn't. He had no clue. He opened his bag and went through it, looking for his phone. He remembered that he left it at mark's.

He smacked his face, and closed his bag. "Fuuuudge" he said, stomping his feet. "What am I to do now?!" He screamed. Well, he can hug a tree until he finds help, or maybe knock on a random door, so he can call mark to pick him up. He walked up to a tree. "So how ya doing" he said, fisting the tree. " I would hug you but that's not cool" he said. Eventually, he ended up hugging the tree, singing the blues. 16 minutes passed and no sight of human being yet. "GOD, IM SO TIRED!" He yelled, not letting go of the tree.
"Ian?" He heard. He snapped his head towards the direction of the sound. He widened his eyes and and let the tree go. "Oh, hey Asmaa" he said, trying to sound cool. She covered her mouth trying to hide the widening smile. "Were you just-?" She paused. "Hugging a tree?!" She said, unable to hold her laughter anymore. "And that song sure was depressing! I almost cried!" She laughed, clutching her stomach.
He folded his arms and huffed. "It was the only solution okay?!" He mumbled. "Well, why are you hugging a tree" she said, calming I herself down. "I got... lost" he whispered. "Whaaaat?" She dragged out. "I said I got lost" he mumbled. She raised her hand over to her ear. "I'm sorry, what was that?" She said. "I GOT LOST" he yelled. "Woah dude. Heard you the first time" she laughed. "Where're you staying? I'll take you there" she said. He scratched the back of his head and let out an awkward laugh. "I don't know?" He squeaked out. "But I know that mark's going to Lillian's party" he continued. She nodded her and moved her hand, indicating him to follow. "I was actually on my way there" she said. He ran over and hugged her. "You, my friend, are a life saver!" He said, letting her go , ruffling her hair in the process.
She looked at him with bewilderment and fixed her hair. "Don't do that so casually" she whispered, hiding her blush. He shrugged and followed her. Little did they know, the camera flashing on the other side.
