Athena failed miserably in her past life. Her father, Zeus, was the king of the glorious Olympus. There was a tradition there. The heir is chosen in quite a particular way. The children of Zeus fight to the death for it no matter how old they are du...
Dione entered my room and pulled out the curtains. I consider this action as the worse part of my day so far.
"Hello princess!" Dione said.
"No, is it morning already???" I groaned in a childish voice.

"Yep." Said the nanny before scowling "Did you stay up and read again, princess??"
That wasn't a question but an accusation. A grave one judging from Dione's face.
Dione picked up the books near my night table while I pretend that there's something super interesting on the ceiling just to not face her.
"Advanced Arts of war. Advanced book for Forbidden spells. Most dangerous magical creatures that can be tamed..." Dione sighed, reading the titles out loud "Highness, you are 3. You can't read. And there are no pretty pictures in these."
Yes I can read. You just don't know it.
"Cover looks pretty." I said innocently in my baby voice "There's a pwetty flower on that one. Athy likes flowers!"
"If she wants to read something," Odysseus entered the room casually without knocking "Here read this."
He puts a book in my lap.
"Illiad and Odyssey." Dione read out loud as if I couldn't read myself "Sir Odysseus, her highness needn't know of all your accomplishments right now. And would you knock?! Weren't you the king of Ithaca in your last life?!"
"Athy will read it." I said although I read the book at least 100 times already during my last life. "Oh look at the pretty scylla."
"It was more hideous in real life." Odysseus shrugged.
I already know but okay. Odysseus has been kind to be till now. And a fierce protector.
"Book is really pretty. Athy like it." I said. "Thank you Ody."
"You're welcome princess." Odysseus ruffles my hair.
"I shall go prepare your breakfast right now my lady. And see if we could so something about your schedule so that you get at least one nap today. Sir Odysseus, could you please go notify the teachers that the princess might not be so attentive today?"
"Athy will be attentive though." I promised.
"You better be or His Majesty could be unhappy with your progress." Odysseus said.
I watched as they exited. Then I heard a little noise near the balcony then a little flashing shadow.
An assassin. Or just an enemy. Not all enemies are good at killing thankfully.
The bastard waited for Dione and Odysseus to leave so he could make a move.
"Hold on mister," I chuckled lowly and got off the bed, slowly walking towards the balcony "Lil kid princess is coming to greet you! It's gonna be easier this way for you huh."
