THEO MILLAR

I puff hard heavily as I ride faster than I have ever ridden. I saw Alix's car pass through the streets and followed all the way to a dirt road on the opposite side of town from my palace. I try my best to keep up at a good distance, but chasing a car isn't as easy as it seems. Ahead of me is this peachy orange sky the sun has painted as it's set itself by the far west side. Behind me is the dark rich blue preparing for the stars and the night to take its place, but both sides meet seamlessly in the middle, both sharing one goal. Maybe it's the adrenaline coursing through me or the feel of the atmosphere but a smile forms on my face, and the breeze combs through my hair. And for once, I know I have never been so right in my life.

Alix's car pulls over to the side of the road ahead of me. I stop and watch him leave the car and disappear in the trees. I ride up to his car and drop my bike, making my way up through the trees, only stopping when he is visible again. He stands on top of rail road that stretches further than my eyes see. Clearly these tracks are abandoned because they look older than the town itself but, I didn't even know people used to come through by train. It's a beautiful place, but Alix doesn't seem to be enjoying it as much as I am. He picks up a stone, pegging it away against the track. Then he looks up, and mutters something to the sky.

"Hey." I smile walking towards him. He looks down at me and attempts a smile, but clearly other things are occupying his mind.

"Hey Theo." He says.

"I came to tell you that I'm sorry." I explain.

"For what?" He asks.

"For only thinking of myself." I tell him. Alixavier is different. He knows who he is. I want to know who I am. I want him to know who I am.

"No school jacket today?" He half smiles. His mahogany eyes warmed by the setting sun.

I shake my head and walk up to him onto the track.

"I am gay." I say, when I am closer to him.

"You've been practicing." He says.

"I like guys." I announce turning to a fake audience and bowing a few times.

"Real cute Theo Millar." He smiles rolling his eyes, then sits on the rail. I sit beside him, facing him.

"Thank you." I say and sit by him. "Can we start again?" He turns to me and nods his head.

"Okay." Alix nods.

"Hey, um..." Jessie says walking slowly towards us

"Were you just there the..."

"Yeah." He smirks. Well at least I don't have to have that conversation with him anymore.

"Hey Jessie." Alix laughs. "Don't worry, J.P's cool, first boy I ever kissed actually."

"I guess we have the same taste." I laugh. Jessie stands there rubbing the back of his neck and smiles.

"You liked me Theo?" He asks. I nod my head.

"You thought I liked Xylia?" I laugh. He nods his head, and then looks at both of us.

".... I'm gonna go get my bike." I tell them, leaving them on the abandoned tracks.
