Ingredients
50g soft margarine
150g flour
100g of caster sugar
50g of golden syrup (this can be replaced with treacle or a other kind of syrup)
100g of your chosen filling (chocolate chips, skittles, raisins, dates or if you just want plain cookies, ignore this part)Method
1. Set oven to gas mark 4 or 180°C fan.
Weight out the margarine and caster sugar, then cream together. Make sure that there is no left over sugar after you've creamed the mixture together.2. Add the flour and golden syrup to the dough, sieve the flour of you wish too.
3. Mix well until there is no flour left in the mixture.
4. Add your chosen filling (if you did not choose a filling ignore this step) and combine into the mixture. Most of your filling should stick into the dough. If you're using something chunky, such as chocolate chips, don't worry if not all of them combine into the dough.
5. If your dough is too wet at this stage add a small amount of flour at a time until it is no longer too wet.
6. If your dough is too dry at this stage add a small amount of water at a time until it is no longer to dry.
7. Place a piece of baking paper onto a baking tray, if the paper will not stay down try sticking it down with some margarine, butter or fry-light
8. Enjoy your cookies 🍪
