it was messy. the blond's heart was racing, his body throbbing, muscles aching in their places. beads of sweat formed all over his body, the hairs on the back of his neck standing up proudly. the goosebumps forming on his tanned skin went unnoticed. the tears didn't, though.

kenny heavy-handedly wiped away at the splattered blood on his cheek, consequently smearing it against his node bridge.

his usual soft, gleaming cerulean eyes were now tainted. the pupils were expanded, drinking up the sight in front of him. although kenny prided himself to be a pacifist, he couldn't help but adore how... ravishing the mess looked, all for him; made by him.

his lips were parted slightly, brows leaning closer together as he pondered on what to do. then, as if it hiding a body was as simple as turning on a light switch, kenny had the perfect idea.

he'd hide it in plain sight. the top of the gas station roof. the cleaners barely show up once every five months, so the body would de-compose any incriminating evidence, while the fumes of gasoline would mask the terrible overwhelming stench of a dead body.

the hardest part was arriving when nobody would be around. nevertheless, kenny figured it out.

when he eventually arrived back at butters' place, kenny's mind was frantic with things he needed to say to the smaller accomplice.

the taller boy practically tore his parka off, the feeling of the thick material heavy on his body was suddenly unpleasant.

"butters, i need to tell you something. it's important." he mumbled, backing into the door to shut it.

butters raised a brow, a small smile on his face at the sight of his friend. he had missed kenny, they haven't seen each other all day. "what is it, kenny?" he replied, hands weaving with each other.

"the detectives were closer to solving the case than they originally thought. i killed harrison yates. they'll be onto us soon; we have to go," kenny explained, head hanging low - his soft, golden mop of hair curving mid air as a result.

"go where?" butters was puzzled, yet his eyes never faltered in their gaze of admiration towards kenny.

"anywhere but here," kenny answered all too quickly. his scarred hand ran itself through his hair, biting down softly on his bottom lip as he ran through what to say to butters.

kenny said he'd protect his friend no matter what. but he didn't mention the things they'd possibly have to sacrifice for that to stay true. kenny didn't want to let butters down - that's the last thing he wanted. out of all the times he'd have died, he's sure that would do it for good.

"we have to leave south park, leo," he finally explained, voice softer than usual, even dropping an octave as an attempt to soften the blow. this had been their home for years, kenny could understand if butters was apprehensive to leave - if he wanted to at all, that is.

"wh- what? right now? why? are you sure?" butters' thoughts all arose too fast for him to process.

kenny didn't have an answer to those questions. he couldn't. it would hurt harder. instead, he put his hands around his friend's face, fuller cheeks warming up due to the sudden contact. the taller had to bend slightly, even dipping his head to be somewhat level to level.

kenny's tender lips pressing to butters' rosy ones adoringly. it felt like static was exploding in their veins, body consequently lit aflame, their heads hurting from malaise. butters' arms looped around kenny's waist, both grounding his weak knees and pulling himself flush against kenny.

when the pair eventually broke apart, kenny rested his forehead against butters'. their eyes explored each other's, shimmering with captivation.

"i don't know where we'll go, or how we'll get there, but no matter where we are, it'll be home with you. i trust you, kenny," butters told his blond counterpart, as he leaned into kenny's touch.

the latter's lips curved into a smile, looking down at butters with fondness.

the smaller blond's eyes flickered down at the floor, and as soon as it happened they were back onto kenny. yet they didn't glitter as much.

"i have to tell you something, too." butters started, a face of gloominess suddenly contaminating the features kenny marveled at more than he'd like to admit.

"what is it?" kenny answered, trying to make himself look approachable. it was easy to tell that he was worried for butters, even without context on what exactly happened.

"i think i'm hallucinating.. earlier today i thought my finger was cut open, i even felt the blood on my skin.. but then it just disappeared. then i felt someone tap my shoulder, but nobody was there, either." butters' eyes filled up with tears, the bleary texture making his cool blue eyes difficult to view.

uncertainty dawned on kenny's features, yet he masked them to the best of his ability. "i don't know what's happening to me, ken. i- i'm really scared.." the fairer haired boy added, lip trembling as he fought back tears.

a bittersweet smile etched itself on kenny's lips, yet to butters it was like a soft, comforting blanket wrapping around his body.

"it's gonna be fine, butters. i know my words don't sound like much but we can find out what's happening to you. i'm here for you; remember? i'm not going anywhere, okay? i've got you. now, c'mere, give me a hug," kenny eventually responded, opening his arms out wide.

kenny should have braced for impact, as butters drove himself into the middle of kenny's arms brutishly. the paler boy nuzzled himself into his friend, succumbing to the intoxicating warmth and comfort that radiated off of his body.

butters could hear the other's heartbeat in his ears, the soft, rhythmic beating lulling him to sleep; no matter how hard he fought it off.

as much as he could deny it, butters saw kenny as home. kenny was always, always there for the smaller companion, no matter what. and overtime, butters grew used to that warm feeling in his bones whenever kenny was near, and recognized it as comfort.

and kenny wouldn't have it any other way.
