George's POV
While only being here for a couple years, I have succumbed to the idea that high school just sucks and is not straight out of a movie. Quite frankly, it's like a nightmare repeating every weekday. The halls, in which you walk, are filled with judgemental students and not so silent whispers of snarky remarks. High school is practically a place where you never fit in or feel like you don't belong.
Sometimes, I dream of being in a movie, where I felt slightly normal and less alone. To have that place which is so comforting that you just wish that time would slow to a halt and allow for you to fall into a deep slumber.
But of course, that was always something that was unobtainable for me. As a pessimistic person trying to listen to some advice telling me to be more positive, at least I got half of what I wished for.
I sat on the couch in the weirdest sitting position ever, impatiently waiting for my friends to finally arrive. My surroundings felt so still and the silence was just so incredibly boring. It wasn't uncommon for it to be completely silent in my house, as my parents are typically never around.
I impatiently tapped my fingers in a rhythm out of pure boredom, while thinking of the weirdest topics. As I was just about to die of old age waiting for my incredibly slow friends, the honk of a car finally broke the silence.
Muttering "finally" under my breath, I dragged myself off the couch and swung my bag onto my shoulder, before heading out of the house.
Quickly running to the car, in fear of being late to Ms. McKinnen's class again, I chucked my bag at Dream sitting in the backseat before getting in. "I would ask you what took so long," I paused glancing up and down at Karl who looks like he just came off the runway, "but I think I can already tell." I said, trying to act as serious as possible.
Karl scoffed, "shut up." I raised my hands, showing I surrendered, as Karl gave me the same energy back, trying to hold his laughter in. Ultimately, he failed, bursting into a fit of laughter.
"Sapnap, we're going to be late, could you drive any faster?" Karl complained, once he had settled down.
In return, Sapnap scoffed, "And who's fault is that?"
"It's not my fault, I had an outfit dilemma and you refused to help me." Karl rebutted in defence.
"Of course, of course it's not, my majesty. How could it ever be your fault!" Sarcasm was clear in the tone Sapnap had used. Karl sent a joking glare as he lightly punched the other in the arm.
"Settle down guys, we're trying to make it to school, not the morgue." Dream butted in, breaking up probably the twentieth argument of the day from Sapnap and Karl. Both sides unexpectedly complied luckily, as they usually went on and on until one of them finally surrenders.
Shortly after, Sapnap turned into the school parking lot, before parking the car in his designated spot.
Hoping for the best, we got out of the car, parting ways to our class. Dream and I had a boring, but easy class, social studies first period. On the other hand, Sapnap and Karl had science.
As we were about the turn the corner to Ms. McKinnen's class, the bell decided to screw us over and ring a minute ahead of schedule making us go from calmly walking to class to full on bolting as if we were running track and field.
We had barely made it to the door, panting heavily, as we walked into the classroom. Ms. McKinnen let out a quiet cough, before she spoke, "Boys, please stay back for a couple minutes after class." We nodded, knowing that we were in fact not in luck, unless you count winning a three day's worth of detention was lucky.
