You can't understand the Outer Banks without understanding the boneyard. It's kinda like a three-layer burrito. There's the pogues and their friends, the working-class derelicts.

Then, there are the Kooks, the rich second-homers. They're mostly from poncey-ass boarding schools, just rich trustafarian posers. The pogues natural enemies.

And then, there are the Tourons. Totally clueless. Here for a week on vacation with their families. Chum for the sharks.

The boneyard is pogue territory but it's also the place everyone parties so no one says anything.

Malia walked over to her brother and friends and gave them a hug. "Longest shift of my life." the brunette complained.

"We'll your off your shift and you get to party." The blonde pogue said as he picked the girl up and spun her around. Both laughing in the air.

"what the hell is she doing here?" Kie said looking at a specific blonde kook.

That's Sarah Cameron. Kook princess. Kiara's best friend in the ninth grade, worst enemy in the tenth grade. John B works on her dad's boats, so, you know, we've seen her around.

"What are you doing?" a boy laughed at the girl next to him.

Then that's Topper, her boyfriend. Topper actually thinks most Pogues were bred to mow lawns. However , no matter how much he hated the rest of the pogues, he couldn't hate malia.

After a little bit the party started to die down and Malia found herself with Rafe cameron. "Hey Princess." The blonde kook smiled at the girl who had sat in his lap.

"Hey. What we doing here?" she asked as she saw the white substance on the table.

"Want a line?" The blonde kook asked before giving her a rolled up dollar bill. The brunette took no time to waste and sniffed the line before tilting her head back. She looked back at the boy and smiled. "Hey you've got a little something on your nose."

The brunette wiped it off on her finger and added a little more of the substance to her finger before lifting it up to the boys nose. The boy smiled before moving his head closer to the girl, making direct eye contact, as he took the drug so easily liek it was natural.

Before anything else could happen the pair heard shouts and chants. They both got up and ran to where the noise was coming from.

"Hey, John B, don't make me drown you like your old man, all right?" Was all Malia heard when she arrived at the scene. She looked at the guy who said it before realising it was Topper.

"Topper what the fuck?!" She shouted. She didn't get a response of course. He was too busy in his element.

"Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!" the crowd was chanting. "Fight! Fight! Fight!"

"Give it to him!" A random guy shouted.

"John B, let it go!" another shouted.

"Stop, you guys!" Kie shouted trying to stop it.

"Topper! Stop!" Sarah shouted nearly crying.

Topper and John B weren't listening to anyone. They just kept going at it.
