An Agent's Story

Briefing...

"Hey Y/N, the CO wants to see you..." Ana says as she pops her head in to see you sleeping. Seeing you sleeping, she walks over and sits down on the cot next to you, now setting her hand slowly on your shoulder, shaking it a bit. "You do realize, I'm awake right?" You say as you open one of your eyes to see her jump back off the cot. "O-OH! I'M SO SORRY Y/N! I WAS JUST CHECKING IF YOU WERE ASLEEP! I WASN'T DOING ANYTHING I SWEAR ON IT!" She said embarrassed quite a lot, putting her hands in her pockets while putting her head down, hiding her red face. "Oh I know, I just wanted to see your reaction." You say, getting up from your cot, chuckling while walking over to her and lightly punching her shoulder. "Hmph, no fair..." She said now pouting being the very pouty and easily annoyed type. "What do you mean no fair? I was awake and you 'claimed' you weren't trying anything." You said now laughing as you opened the flap to your tent and holding it open for her to walk out. "I wasn't trying anything I swear!" "Alright, sure..." You said now snickering a bit more before walking to a much larger tent than yours, which made it obvious that was where the CO was. Walking into the larger tent, you saw a table with a map of Seattle and the surrounding area with some marked locations on it. Supposedly being some locations where enemies would be or some areas where there are nearby settlements. "Hey, you Y/N?" A man asked, who seemed to be in his 30s and was wearing all black with a SHD watch. "Yeah, are you the Commanding Officer?" You said now leaning forward against the table. "Alright, I'm gonna say this now. You and your squad are a bunch of rambunctious, unqualified, and untrained idiots. I could send a platoon of new Agents without any training and they could probably do better. Now, you and your squad are to wait here, in base camp, until I give you orders." He said in an aggravated and slightly annoyed tone. You were speechless as you had no words to say before Ana spoke up. "Sir, with all due respect, we just came from Portland, surely you have something to do with us, right?" She said as she looked to you before going back to the Commanding Officer. "I'm already full on enough Agents going out and not coming back, whoever or whatever is out in that frigid cold is taking my Agents..." He said kind of frustratedly, as he hit his hand down on the table, making a large thudding sound. "So I'm asking you this nicely, just abide by my orders, and listen to what I have to say, before I send you out into the cold personally..." The Commanding Officer murmured before looking down and shaking his head slightly. "Alright, whatever you say..." You said before nudging Ana slightly, signaling for you and her to leave. She listened to your wordless order as you walked out, her doing the same. Now making your way back to your tent, you and Ana walked back into the tent and sat down on the cot, in complete silence before Ana spoke up. "HOW CAN HE DO THAT?! We take direct orders from the U.S President himself, and now he just removed all of that and says "I'm your new CO, follow my orders or else I kill you" LIKE HOW?" She said in a angry tone before mocking the CO. "Listen Ana, it's fine...he'll find something to do with us eventually, lord knows he can't put us off to the side forever, no matter how much he doesn't like us..." You said in a calm manner, trying to calm her down. She huffed and puffed before finally speaking again. "Yeah, you're right...still fucking hate him though..." She said before sitting down on her cot. "Pretty sure everyone in this damn camp hates him" You say jokingly, snickering a little at your own joke. Ana snickered as well as she laid down on her cot. "Well, since we can't really do anything now...I'm gonna get some rest..." She said as she turned away from you, and facing towards the closest side of the tent. "Yeah, I'll probably do the same..." You say as you lay down on your cot, facing upwards, you just stare into the tent ceiling once again, having a thought roll around in you're mind before you're eyes began shutting themselves, as you drifted off to sleep slowly.
